A better day today...

Didn't think I'd ever be metaphorically punching the air on the news that my wee sister was to have a second brain operation - but that's the strange position I found myself in today...

Long story short, I called the hospital, Mr Shieff the neurosurgeon and Mrs Wilson the Oncology specialist checked Pam's MRI and advised a cyst has developed on the site of last month's operation...

Mr Shieff needs to operate again to drain this - it's this which has been causing pressure in Pam's head which in turn has been returning her to the position she was in pre the tumour op...

As you might imagine, there was great relief for Pam, family and friends to find that this was the cause rather than any return of the tumour itself after just four weeks...

So a further brain op this week which, as long as there's no infection, it is hoped will not hold up the planned commencement of treatment on Monday...

Of course until the op, Pam remains in the very frustrating position of not being able to express the thoughts in her head...

Met with Anne for lunch and, post this drifted to HMV with more Xmas money and partook of Everything Everything's debut (as recommended recently on Sid Smith's blog), plus the latest by Midlake...

Listened to Midlake's last on the way home and was impressed, not really ever having given it a proper listen since buying it many months ago - but such is the fate of much of the music I buy...

So, a day spent mostly communicating with family, friends and Pam's friends and, of course, Pam herself...

And the tree has gone from Charlotte Square...

Highlight of the Day : Good news re Pam...

PS A mail this evening from CBQ collaborator Ryan Williamson in Brisbane advises huge floods in his part of Queensland - 2011 not looking like a great year thus far...

Ryan reports his studio is ok thus far but his olive trees are going the way of the Charlotte Square Xmas Tree...
