Sumner McKane - Something Very New England About This View

Soundtracked by Sumner McKane on shuffleplay today - on what would have been my dad's 81st birthday and what was also the 9th anniversary of the sad demise of our first wee cat, Crispy the Kitten (she was a 17 and a half year old kitten at the time)...

The weather was proclaimed to be "no bad"...

Loaded up these maps to help out Pam's chums should they drive into Hampstead to visit her...

Just click on the pics to enlarge...

Spoke again to Pam this morning and she sounded very well indeed...

The op was carried out by Mr Shieff again - when he went in, he drained the "very large" cyst but also discovered an abscess and some infected bone, all of which had to be removed...

So a long course of antibiotics is now required to fully get rid of the infection - this will delay Pam's Radio and Chemotherapy for 5-6 weeks...

But, first and foremost, I am advised by her doctors that Pam is bright and healthy and I have no real reason to be more worried now than I was before...

It's still to be decided how the antibiotic course will be administered - it's certain though that Pam won't be getting out now for a few more days at very least, possibly longer...

Once the antibiotic treatment is over they'll need fresh MRI and CT scans to replan the treatment, as the ones taken last week have the cyst on them - now they need new post op "maps"...

So, like Pam, we are all staying super-positive...

In the evening, we were off out with Count Brodski and Lady Penny - they had booked a table for us at "Urban Angel"...

Met up with Anne beforehand and we visited a few bars - Iglu, Star Bar and Mezz before teaming up with the Brodskis at the Barony...

As you might imagine, your correspondent was slightly the worse for wear by this point...

However, by the time we got to the restaurant, both Penny and Alan were catching up...

The food was superb and a long leisurely evening of eating, drinking and making merry was enjoyed...

Then it was back to Mezz - where the conversation turned to the lack of Penny's engagement ring - Alan and Penny having become engaged about two years ago or something...

In the pic below you can see disappointment from Penny, Alan trying to explain and scepticism regarding said explanation being proferred by me and Anne...

As the night wore on, we all had to try on Penny's hat...

Your correspondent was very much the worse for wear by this point...

And, of course, when you get to the point that you are using two large Hoegaarden glasses as spectacles, it's time to get a taxi home...

In bed by 2 am...

Highlight of the Day : An enjoyable, diverting night out with the Brodskis...

Are you going to see Mr Frain tonight or have you taken your month's alcohol quota in one night? :-)
