Shopping for toys...

Another early rise...

Sorted through all the pics from yesterday and created a few collages to put up here – all the while listening to the Springsteen 2CD set purchased yesterday...

When Anne finally arose around 9 am her first words were “Is that Bruce Springsteen? You don’t like Bruce Springsteen”. It’s true – she knows me so well...

But a gap required to be filled. ..

Mind you, I don’t think I’ll ever fill that “R&B” gap in the collection...

Cycled to the local store and back for provisions for breakfast...

Called Count Brodski and we both agreed to postpone plans we had had for today re a possible picnic up on Corstorphine Hill – the sun just wasn’t going to burn its way through today...

In the garden, yesterday’s sun had helped Anne’s flowers on their way to bloom...

Played through my six song set again, just to make sure I could still do it without my notes – it worked...

Then updated my record of live performances since returning after a five year break between 1998 and 2003...

Though the picnic was postponed, our planned visit to my mum was still on the agenda and, after downloading a couple more albums, we set off for Toys R Us to buy presents for our German Godchildren...

Unfortunately we know nothing about buying stuff for kids but we’d promised ourselves we wouldn’t leave the shop until our mission had been accomplished...

Their dad, Jorg, had mentioned in a recent phonecall that son Ansem no longer liked Diggers but now preferred Knights...

After some searching we found some – ironically made for the German market and imported to the UK – and two will shortly wing their way back home...

For three year old Teja, a couple of small radio controlled cars...

For 8 year old Xenia some clothing and jewellery had already been purchased...

And so to my mum’s but not before first visiting M&S for a wee sponge cake treat...

Coffee and cake at mum’s before she headed up to my sister’s for her dinnr – she normally goes on a Saturday but due to circumstances beyond her control, was visiting today, so cutting our own visit short...

And so back into town along the slow roads. We ended up shopping for new oven trays a couple of bottles of German wine from the town we stayed in two years ago on our last visit to the fatherland and some new printable CD-Rs to replenish my dwindling stocks...

In the evening, surfed a few sites whilst listening to more music – downloading some more new stuff from Pitchfork..

On telly “Coronation St” featuring a tearful reconciliation between Ken & Deirdre, "Seven Ages of Rock" featuring Heavy Metal which, somehow, boiled it all down to Black Sabbath, Judas Priest, Motley Crue and Metallica...

A travesty...

Highlight of the Day : New music...
