Rather annoyingly, a fault with the plumbing in the hotel meant no hot water this morning...
Your correspondent almost had a heart attack whilst bathing...
After a fine breakfast, we drove for around three hours through sometimes torrential rain, east towards Frankfurt and then north towards Kassel...
When we arrived in the little town of Felsberg, where I taught English at the "middle" school (pupils from 10 to 16 or so) for the year 1980/81, Yvonne was at home, as was Xenia, though the latter was hiding somewhere in the house...
Jorg soon arrived home with his sons, Ansem (our Godson) and his younger brother Teja, whom we saw today for the first time...
Here are the three kids...
Xenia (8)...
Ansem (6)...
and Teja (3)...
In the afternoon, we went along to Xenia's school (where Ansem will join her come August) for the School Fayre...
After Xenia and her classmates sang during the opening ceremony, we watched and helped as the kids all tried to complete nine tasks in order to win a prize...
I stood in the queue with Xenia and Ansem as they waited to get into the prize room...
Once there, Xenia carefully looked at all the available prizes and chose a very small stuffed dog...
Ansem, on the other hand, proceeded to make a swag holder out of the lower half of his T shirt and filled it to the brim with as much as he could take...
Strangely, no-one semed the least bit interested in stopping him..
In the evening, once the kids were in bed, Jorg and I drove over to nearby Melsungen to pick up a delicious Thai takeaway...
A good, if tiring, day and our first glimpse of what it is like to have three young children full-time - a nightmare...
Highlight of the Day : Seeing Jorg and family again...
