Having been awake in the middle of the night with a roaring headache (too much wine perchance?), I didn’t waken this morning till 10am...
Drove to Zelbio as usual for bread re breakfast after which, we spent some time just relaxing in the garden, no sign of the friendly wee cat though...
Just before midday, we drove down the mountain to Nesso which lies at the end of the road up to Veleso and is right on the lakeside...
Having diced with death all week and having come through unscathed, I stalled the car whilst parking in Nesso by the Church and it rolled back into a harled wall, leaving a wee bit of superficial damage on the back bumper – hopefully not enough for us to have to cough up the £100 odd excess...
We walked down to the lake and took some more pics before heading back to the car and driving South along to Torno, where our boat had docked a couple of times on Friday...
It took a while for us to work out how to get down to the village from the road but it was worth it in the end...
This was my favourite place we visited on the holiday, with its beautiful little harbour setting...
We sat for a couple of hours in a little bar just relaxing, drinking and lunching – pizza for me, large mixed salad for Anne – superb...
We were back home around 4 pm and Anne sat on the balcony reading while I snoozed – then Anne packed (she doesn’t like me to interfere in this process even though I am more than willing to help) while I snoozed – then we sat and listened to the jukebox while Anne continued to read...
Around 7:30 we set of for dinner somewhere – our last night in Veleso...
The wee cat was sitting at our front door as we drove past on our way over to Zelbio – she must have heard us leaving the house...
The pizzeria we were heading for was closed on a Tuesday – so was the restaurant further up the hill and so we returned to the house, ditched the car and walked up to the Albergo Bella Vista, where we’d dined last Thursday night...
Milanese Cutlets each with rosemary potatoes and salad accompanied by white wine and sparkling mineral water and followed by Tiramisu and ice cream...
Tasty...
As we walked home we saw several bats flying around and, miraculously, I managed to get a picture of one of them as it flew overhead...
This isn't the pic - this is our last sunset from the balcony...
And so that’s it all over bar tomorrow’s day of travel...
A good relaxing holiday but the driving was a wee bit stressful at times...
Highlight of the Day : Sitting by the water at Torno Harbour – lovely...
