Rehearsing the set - accompanied by Mia the visiting cat...

Listening to new to me music, downloaded this morning having eschewed yet another record fair...

Accompanied by Mia the visiting cat...

Have not yet continued with the "Yesathon" but dug out all my vinyl LPs just in case...

A text from sister Sheila to advise my mum had had a fall, not a serious one though...

I headed out post dropping Anne at Jane's re Hearts about to happen glorious 1-0 win over Celtic (later Queens went down 2-1 at home to Dundee Utd)...

Mum was asleep when I arrived...

Sister Sheila and Senior also popped by..

A bruised arm the consequence of the incident...

Home via tea provision purchasing along with required new togs for Mr Quartet...

Mia had spotted the squirrel...

This evening, in said new togs and post a tasty steak, mash, mushroom and onion tea, to the Festival Theatre for our next festival item, a performance of Wayne McGregor's "Autobiography" - an 80 minute piece...

...which was very much enjoyed and, I imagine, was quite tiring for these ten magnificent dancers...

Home by 9:35...

...new togs to the fore...

...to Mia...

...and tired..

...but not that tired...

Music and Hearts highlights enjoyed in the living room, along with mischievousness from the visiting cat...

Another huge playlist today...

I was catching up on new additions to "LPs I owned from 1972-1988" re recent acquisitions...

And so a number of those were played...

In addition, over the last couple of days, follwoing on from Capital Models discussions re possible new material (now of our own of course, that would be asking too much!), I've compiled a list of every cover I've performed or recorded (or played at home but not in public)...

Uh oh, another list...

Anyway, a lovely day...

The beast was about its business...

Being unable yet to cease having to resort to bacon bringing home duties in order to continue to fund its music madness...

Caught a glimpse of a cat and took a quick pic - I wonder if this is Fang the Black Cat on a sojourn somewhere...

I'm sure these graced a CBQ CD around 10 years ago - still going strong...

In the evening, the bees were out - as they have been for several weeks now - it buoys to see the bees...

But, highlight of the day has to be the return of Mia the Cat - with Abbie and Blair off to Croatia to bring six or seven cats back to the UK by road, for a cat charity...

Hmmm...

Anyway, not complaining about having the wee girl around the house for a few days...

Old and, indeed, new...

Playlist
Bartók - String Quartets (Alban Berg Quartet)
Dover Quartet - Haydn Bartok Zemlinsky Edinburgh Queens Hall 2018-08-06
Roedelius - Selbstportrait I
Roedelius - Selbstportrait II
Mark Wingfield, Markus Reuter, Asaf Sirkis, Yaron Stavi - The Stone House

This evening, I had the opportunity to go along to see Irish Post Rock band, And So I Watch You From Afar...

However, I eschewed this in favour of some new and old music at home, tonight being at last able to facilitate a digital reboot of these two excellent early Roedelius titles, originally acquired from Pick Up in Kassel in 1980 and 1981...

...along with a considerable number of other Roedeius titles still or previously owned on vinyl...

Also some excellent improvised music by jazz guitarist Mark Wingfield and his extremely talented ensemble...

And I "taped" Monday's string quartets from the BBC iPlayer for posterity...

And there was "Holby City" too...

So, it's all good...

Back to the University environs tonight for another show...

Jack Docherty's one man performance as Police Chief "Cameron Miekleson" and deluded Scottish Independence advocate "McGlashan"...

One character hilariously incompetent and completely un-PC, one hilariously misinformed and, also, completely un-PC - making for an excellent hour of comedy...

Out into the night, slightly later than post Simon Evans the other day, hence, better pics...

Including a blurry one of the street where our now closed for twenty years second record shop was...

This morning at eleven, to the Queens Hall to meet up with the Exec Producer...

A not great view...

...but then, the person in the row in front of us had paid £14 more for his ticket - and it's the music that matters...

Nevertheless, we moved at half time...

The concert was being broadcast on BBC Radio 3...

String Quartets by Haydn (Opus 20 No 5), Bartok (No 2) and Zemlinsky (No 2)

...excellently played by Amercans, The Dover Quartet...

Lovely...

Coffee and a bacon roll post gig...

...and post having bought this stupid book re coloured and shaped vinyl...

Oh well, it's not too bad...

BAck home and compiling a list of every cover I've ever played took me to the attic to find my original cassettes...

My final list numbered almost 180...

Food for thought...
