Tonight, the recording of this week's podcast...

And the integration of the first of JB's old discs...

The first three I had as burns (and the first as an LP in the '70s)...

This, new to me and good...

Ooh, punk rock from 22 years ago and, even then, 19 years too late, probably...

Still good though...

A reminder of chum Jamie...

And, not quite Isaac Hayes but still good...

Meanwhile, this morning, as I headed to the dentist for some painful filling work (don't ask), consolation £1 purchases in Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland...

This because it contains "The Captain of Her Heart" by Swiss duo Double - a record I had back in the day (as they say)...

...and this because Katy Perry is actually rather good...

A Chinese takeaway and, on telly, "Death in Paradise" was entertaining as usual...

And now with a changeover to Father Dougal...

Should be good...

Today a few CDs gifted from chum JB, another victim of the evil lure of the stream...

These from brother-in-law Keith still to be integrated (and, indeed, listened to)...

Some sleeveless items listened to this evening too...

Barry White and Van Halen particularly good...

With Anne at Zumba, the remaining risotto from last night nourished whilst viewing "Marvel : Agents of Shield"...

No "Endeavour" tonight though due to other stuff being viewed...

That is all...

An excellent day, music-wise as I continued to enjoy my old record collection...

Amazing that I can now carry the whole lot around inside a small machine...

Home quite late, to Anne's excellent risotto - preceded by the leftovers of last night's tasty soup...

I'd forgotten I ordered this last week in the wake of John Wetton's death...

I did not get a chance to listen though...

Some refining of the pics on the entry below re my old collection...

Then, another two hour "Endeavour" adventure, followed by the ever evolving stories of "Holby"...

To bed post midnight, still with my old collection in the lugs on shuffleplay...

Highlight of the Day :  Excellent music...

Compiling and soup...

Playlist
Various - My Record Collection 1972-1987
Miles Davis - Melbourne '88

A cold day...

But beautiful nonetheless...

As is often the case for a Monday, little to report...

In the evening, Anne's Sweet Potato soup was super-tasty...

It was enjoyed upon her return from Zumba, while we managed a combined score of 145 on"University Challenge", beating the team from Birmingham (Edinburgh won)...

Of course, our points total included a few of the old "I was going to say that so I'll take the points" variety...

Then, a thirteen month old "Endeavour" from the Tivo was much enjoyed...

The rest of the evening had been taken up with compiling a definitive playlist on my iTunes of all the LPs I once owned which I now have again (see below)...

Made for very enjoyable listening indeed...

Lights out...

Highlight of the Day : Compiling and soup...

LP Collection 1972-1987...

Not a definitive list but reasonably close - I've already spotted a few omissions...

It's only those 821 of 1,082 I've replaced on CD or download...

There are a further 261 LPs on my old lists I've not yet been able to re-secure - of those, many will never be returned to the fold...

This then, is an approximation of my album (and cassette) collection before I went over fully to CD...

Up super early...

The view from the office this morning...

...at...

New purchases on the cans - continuing to listen in order of acquisition - so, first thing, some top notch Miles Davis...

I knew the '75 would be good but, on the basis of '81 and what I've heard so far of '88, I will need to re-evaluate the '81-'91 period...

Up dating the red book of CDs I own...

Over a quarter of the shelf taken up with yesterday's haul...

Then, a new project - noting I hadn't chosen "singles of the month" for December or January, I did that, and then decided to create a podcast for each year re my "history of the single" playlist...

So that took up a goodly amount of the day - 1959 - 1968 created...

Decided too to illustrate each year with a contemporaneous artwork...

Also, in the early afternoon, set about reprinting all the lyric sheets I've given away to drummer, now bassist, Keith re our musicking...

And sang through around half the songs...

A visit from chum Lynn - who brought some toffee muffins, her at Costa working son had brought home (he often plies Lynn and Ross with soon to be out of date cakes and goodies)...

Out to my mum's...

Decided Anne would not enjoy Miles '88 in the car, so we were soundtracked by tunes from the lesser know era of Mr David Essex's career...

Looking good in a new jersey, mum too enjoyed a cake...

Home around 5:30 and more practising, singing the remainder of the chosen songs...

While Anne created some tasty pasta...

Later on, another project - Twitter chums advising which were their "go to" LPs - I managed to pick out 25...

Filtering parameter was that I had to own them now on both LP and CD...

Of course, I couldn't leave it at that...

By 11 o'clock, and dropping the LP parameter, I had a list of over 250, now forming a new playlist on the 160GB iPod...

This is how etc...

Lights out with "go to" music on the cans...

Highlight of the Day : Mucking about...
