Boing Boom Tschak, pt 4...

Playlist

Up late on Kraftwerk day...

Egg breakfasts...

Expertly prepped...

To the machines...

Post amending the LP display...

...and putting my horribly stinky slippers in the freezer (per online advice which, of course, 24 hours later, didn't work, while actually washing them did, of course)...

Along to the care home but Mary was asleep and we thought best not to disturb...

As Anne headed home, I caught a bus into town...

...and visited FOPP...

I wonder exactly who on earth is going to buy this?

Took pics of their Best of the Year so far choices...

Of these, I have just Karnivool, Thundercat and Kula Shaker...

...and, of these, Buzzcocks, Big Big Train, Puscifer, Morrissey, Apparat, Alter Bridge and Squarepusher,

So, 10 out of 96...

I noted some reduced Yearbook collections and took pics of the content, with a view to possibly (probably not) compiling them myself from my library...

I carried 1973 around for a while, but, in the end put it back - why spend £8 on 3CDs of music I already own?

1975 and 1979 were missing, of the years I might "want"...

Not to worry...

Noted our flyers from last August amongst the free stuff...

A chat with manager Paul as I was leaving - he put me onto some French Canadian Electro pop...

Round to the old office and good chat with Eloise and Craig...

Chummed the former to purchase a present for a baby then, looked to head to Canonmills but too long a wait for the bus so to Princes St and a bus caught home...

...where a squirrel hung upside down outside, feeding...

Watched the last of "Homeland" Season 3, very sad...

With just the last 5 mins or so to go, Chris arrived for tonight's Kraftwerk gig...

We drove to Roseburn then got a bus to Princes St...

Walked to Broughton St to the chippy for tea, noting the Kraftwerk sign at the Playhouse in the distance...

Haggis, fish and, of course, chips (better than it looks), consumed, we made our way to the venue...

And in...

Obligatory pre gig pic...

From the fourth row...

Right on time, at 8pm, the show started...

...as a latecomer was shown to their seat in the row in front of us, someone else, who should have been on Row CC, as opposed to Row C, was ejected..

This was my fourth time seeing Kraftwerk, following 1991 (at this very venue), 2004 and 2017...

OK I may have paid £100 to watch, quite frankly, much out-dated graphics on a massive backdrop, soundtracked by works from a box set I could have listened to, and heard exactly the same sound from, at home....

But, it was a quite brilliant spectacle indeed...

Here we go...

Chris was occasionally filming...

The beast was watching...

My favourite pic of the night...

One by one, they left the stage...

...and, inevitably, returned for "The Robots"...

Chris was enjoying it...

...as was the above-noted latecomer...

After just over two hours, it was all over...

Most likely, this will be the last time I see Ralf Hutter on stage...

Perhaps these three will continue into the future with a suitable replacement from the Kling Klang studios...

And off they went...

UK tour concluded...

Very little difference, if anything re the music or visuals (apart from the 3D aspect last time) to the 2017 performance...

Good to have seen them again though...

Highlight of the Day: Kraftwerk live for the fourth time...
