Saturday and our last full day in Norway...
The view from the office...
Out for provisions, specifically, "nice" rolls...
Mission accomplished...
Out again post breakfast...
Greeted on the way, by this wee monkey...
We took a tram down to the city but had to get off early as many of the roads in the centre were closed due to today's Pride Procession...
So we walked the remainder of the way, to the harbour...
...for our booked cruise around the Oslo Fjord at 11am, on this old boat, once used to transport fish up and down the fjords...
300 NOK is around £24...
And off we went...
Once again the pics will talk...
As noted from the pics above, the trip went a lot closer to the shoreline along Oslo's front than the public transport boat the other day...
Off out to the islands...
Post the trip, we were planning to find this art gallery...
All over...
Once back on land, we searched for a bus or a tram but the parade had knocked everything off kilter and we were struggling...
Eventually, we jumped on a bus that took us to the middle of, frankly, nowhere...
Then, we walked a bit and found another bus that seemed to be headed back to town, so we eschewed the gallery for that and drove back, past the marina...
Next thing we knew we were on a bridge overlooking the parade as it passed by beneath us, not far from its point of origin...
Good to see they let Gary Glitter out for the day...
...albeit with a guard...
Another bus back towards Grünerløkka and the best pastry and coffee/hot chocolate of the trip...
...was followed by a walk to Birkelunden park...
...from here, another short walk took us to the Grünerløkka Brewery bar for beers on the pavement...
As the trams trundled by, I had an idea...
...and we were soon on a number 12 heading North, far beyond our apartment and on to the end of the line, up at Kjelsås...
It was, once again, roasting...
A long walk took us to the cusp of reaching Maridalsvannet, Oslo's biggest lake/reservoir...
...but there was no way through the fence...
So...
...we walked on along the river, Akerselva...
Almost everyone else we saw was over on the other bank...
We found a bench for a rest...
...noting sun worshipers in the meadow opposite...
...and then, headed on, past a bridge...
...and a strange house...
...before stumbling across the...
...Museum of Technology...
...opposite which were more bathers...
In we went for ice cream, of course..
...before taking a convolutedly routed bus back towards the apartment...
...and home for a rest...
...before venturing out again later on, for our last tea of the trip...
Tonight, "proper" pizzas at the San Remo Pizza & Grill...
...and then, a walk back down to the Grünerløkka Brewery for final beers...
..and, getting even more use out of our 24 hour bus passes, down to the station to suss out possible locker use tomorrow...
...followed by a tram home...
...and in for more "Homeland"...
...and some melon for the lady...
