Playlist
Feeling slightly better this morning but the hacking cough remains...
Someone posted that it was on this day in 1972 that David Bowie released "Ziggy Stardust"...
That sent me back to my "LPs I'd have bought if I had unlimited cash but was only allowed to buy those that made the UK LP charts"...
Ziggy took 9 days to hit the chart...
Prompted by that post, I wasted quite a bit of time this morning creating a playlist of 52 LPs, my favourite which each charted for the first time on each of weeks 1-52 across the years 1970 - 1979...
Absolutely very many of my favourite LPs of the 70's are amongst these 52. Where 2 faves charted during the same week, a tough choice was made, from a maximum of 10, a minimum of 1...
Here we go - everyone loves a list...
Anne was out at Pickleball and I listened to the Bowie LP, on LP, scratches and all...
I did not look like this, the first time I heard it, over 50 years ago...
A "Bones" in the afternoon, then Anne was off out again, with chum Mayumi, to a ballet by Les Ballets Trockadero de Monte Carlo - men dancing as both men and women - - with dinner beforehand at Café Andaluz...
Accordingly, I cooked for one...
Rigatoni, Quorn mince, onions, peas, other veg, chili flakes and cream of tomato soup for my sauce...
So, even if you only listen to the first 30 minutes or so, it can introduce you to brilliant new music. And you can always listen on for even more!
It took around 18 minutes start to finish...
Ready...
Yum...
Meanwhile, Olly sent Anne some pics from his current visit to the USA with the Scotland squad for the World Cup...
Here, with Greg Hemphill from "Still Game"...
Tonight, in a probably fruitless attempt to get more people to listen to my weekly podcast I put out this information...
In the podcasts https://www.mixcloud.com/CloudlandBlueQuartet/ I play my 7 favourite new releases...
79 of the 168 favourites featured so far this year, have been by artists I'd not heard of before...
Here they are...
I suspect this news will continue to fall on deaf ears (deaf to my work anyway)...
Tonight, the second half og France v Senegal watched. A lucky, all things considered, 3-1 win fro the French...
Picked Anne up and, on our return, a "Bones" and then, bed...
Highlight of the Day: Cooking and compiling...
