In all, "Dark" comprises five different versions of the same LP. "Dark" (50:57) Tracks 1-16: 15 August 2025. The fifth and final mix of the LP. A shorter version of the second mix from four days earlier, with the addition of the final closing piece, which features an excerpt from a Stanley Kubrick interview from 1966. "Dark" (Extended Version) (79:18) Tracks 17-32: 11 August 2025. The second mix of the LP, including ambience but no Short Wave Radio. Again, Stanley Kubrick features on the closing piece. "Arcane" ("Dark" Initial Mix) (73:11) Tracks 32-46: 10 August 2025. The initial mix of the work, at the time known as "Arcane", which includes both ambience and Short Wave Radio but no Kubrick. "Kubrick" (75:10) Tracks 48-62: 11 August 2025. The third mix, which brings in multiple edits from the Kubrick interview to form an alternative version. This was considered for the final LP but subsequently abandoned. While the music is essentially the same as the earlier versions, the track titles were suggested by the content of the interview edits. "Kubrick II" (78:31) Tracks 63-78: 12 August 2025. The fourth mix, which pushes Kubrick into the background and emphasises the music instead. On completion, this was considered to be the version which would be the LP. However, after three days of listening across the four versions created between 10 and 12 August, it was decided to return to the second mix, which excluded the Short Wave Radio, and to create more succinct versions of the longer tracks and exclude the Kubrick interview, apart from one excerpt, which forms the main content of the final track of the finalised LP.
