People were up...

I was up...

Ongoing doom-like problems with iTunes were haunting me...

But...

Today we were off on a day out...

At 10:10, out and down the hill for a bus into town and, then, another bus, heading north...

...and over the old bridge - which is only used for busses these days - ludicrous...

Anyway, by 11:40 we were in that Dunfermline...

Coffee/Hot Chocolate at The Guildhall And Linen Exchange...

...followed by a walk around, arriving at Dhoom slightly ahead of our 12:30 booking...

Anne was looking forward to the seven course Indian Street Food Taster Menu...

Of course, I was too...

Drinks to kick off...

And then, the food started to arrive...

Aloo Bhaji - crispy potato bhajis from Chennai...

Chickpea Kotlets - parsi chickpea cutlets from Mumbai...

Kappa Vadai - tapioca vadas from Chennai...

Chicken 65 Chaat - crispy chicken tossed in a southern-style hot garlic chili sauce, from the south coast of India...

Crispy Punjabi Lamb - minced lamb rolls from Chandigarh in the northern part of India - like a cross between meat samosas and Spring Rolls...

Eaten too quickly to record here, the Haulle Haulle - coconut Ladoos - kind of lollipop palate cleansers that, to me, tasted like the filling of a Peshwari naan...

Yum...

Our chosen mains, served with Pilau Rice and Indian Bread (a Paratha), were, Railway Canteen Lamb...

...and Chicken Masala Desi...

All supremely tasty...

The young lady who served us advised that the menu changes every 6 weeks or so to reflect the Northern, Southern, Eastern or Western regions of the sub-continent...

I get the feeling we will be back...

More walking around...

The cathedral...

The birthplace of Dr Prog, drummer Johnny and Johnny Impossible's fave team, Dunfermline Athletic...

After a visit to various charity shops and scouting around a few places for a drink, we visited The Commercial Inn...

...where I chose this...

...and Anne enjoyed a cheeky glass of Pinot Grigio...

Of course, in the shops, I'd made some purchases...

A great album from Gil Scott Heron, from the very finely fitted out Chest Heart & Stroke shop for a quid...

...and, with all the other shops having had nothing enticing, these five from our final stop of the tour at Sue Ryder - again, all at £1 each...

John Barry - with much James Bondery involved...

A brave selection as regards repertoire for what was Ms Benedetti's debut recording...

The Boccherini Guitar Quartet...

A previously unknown to me Scottish Composer...

...and a commission of Thomas Wilson by the SNYO...

Good finds...

Meanwhile, no, Anne was not dancing...

Beer cocks...

Hmmm...

To the bus station around 3:30...

...where this wee chap entertained...

Back to Queensferry St by 4:20 and a 26 home, arriving back around 5pm...

An enjoyable day...

To ripping and listening...

...using the Betrons for a wee change...

A small tea at 7:30...

Anne went for cheese on toast - mine was this concoction, which I will call "Creamy Chili Beans"...

Recipe: two eggs, plenty of spring onions, some cheddar cheese, chili flakes and a tin of beans.  Stir and mix well. Microwave for 3 mins. Stir. Microwave for one more minute.  Eat and enjoy!

Some telly tonight - "Grantchester" and the first two of the very enjoyable indeed "Black Doves"...

Another good day...

Highlight of the Day : Dhoom...

Never been to Dhoom, must look it up. The Commercial is a good old pub, was in it at Christmas before the fitba, used to be my local back in the day - that's about 25 years ago now.

We should all go to Dhoom sometime. Like the Commercial, as did Annie...
