Today's listening was sourced from these...

...and here's what happened...
Up in the darkness...
...to write this up...
Back room scenes...
Downstairs...
Kitchen scenes - it was here that the action would take place later for the Exec Producer...
And it was still the weekend...
Diary written for yesterday...
Then, to editing the CMs sessions...
153 mins edited down to 85 mins - including the opening jam, which I managed to turn into an impromptu rendition of the old Sombre Reptiles "Poppies" classic, "Lap of Luxury"...
MP3s sent out to the boys in the band - using Swiss Transfer instead of the now completely monetised WeTransfer or indeed Dropbox, with which Paul & Keith were having problems...
It was an enjoyable session, although nothing from it will be added to Bandcamp, except the intro to "Virginia Plain, at some point, and, perhaps, "Lap of Luxury"...
My take to the team just after 10 am...
"I'd suggest you only use this to see where things went wrong then refer to the Repertoire versions to hear how to put them right! In the fullness of time, I will amend Virginia Plain on Repertoire to replace the intro with that recorded yesterday. Other than that that, there's nothing on here which will make it to Bandcamp..."
Then, soundtracked by recent acquisitions and while adding a pile of music to the phone, writing this up re five missing days from September 2005 (and re-editing another five) re our trip to the Austrian lakes and Linz; and four days from May 2006 re our trip, for my 47th birthday, to Amsterdam...
Here's a pic from the market at Jordaan on 6 May 2006...
Today, I couldn't find a copy of the Rameau but I downloaded the Handel's "Saul" box...
And I'm pretty sure I have the content of the Haydn box to its left...
Of course, re the newly inserted text to these entries, its hard to recall what happened almost 20 years ago...
Anyway, this work still leaves 146 "picture only" days...
Three in October 2016 (including the wonderful Laura Pausini concert in that London); 23 in April and May 2022; and a massive 58 neglected days between September and November 2023...
Anyway, just as I republished the last of the Amsterdam entries, chums John and Ali Impossible arrived for an LLL...
i.e. a long leisurely lunch...
The sounds of 70s pop music soundtracked the afternoon, which started with Italian lager for your correspondent, fine red wine for John and Anne and lovely esoteric lemonade for Ali...
Canapés were also served and top chat ensued, around Ali's University course, John's inability to stop the milk order to Impossible Towers, cheating, AI, Bob Dylan, PR, cats etc etc etc...
Then, around 2 or so, lunch from Anne's fair hand...
Salmon fillets in a cream and dill sauce, with asparagus and potatoes...
A choice of lemon or banoffee ramekin deserts...
Coffee and biscuits...
Chat continued including our experience of auctions and all the rest of the nonsense re my mum's house; and various programmes used in music production and, indeed, the everyday computer work at Crispycat Towers, with recommendations being made re free software for music production, music mastering, text/spreadsheet, file transferring and music downloading...
Around 5, J&A had to head off re a visit tonight from Ali's daughter Emma...
A top afternoon had been had....
Dishes done and relaxing by 5:30...
Someone wanting to know what the first LP I bought with my own money was...
Here you go, Autumn 1972...
The 70s soundtrack continued and, eventually, moved on to a recently concocted collection of Alice Cooper live recordings of his "modern" bands playing the repertoire of the classic 1967-1974 line up...
Then the football highlights, Hearts having beaten bottom of the table St Johnstone in Perth this afternoon...
The highlights evidenced yet another scraping through scenario - but 3 points are 3 points...
Also enjoyable was watching Hibernian overcome Celtic yesterday and St Mirren providing the final nail in the Rangers manager's coffin at Ibrox...
A makeshift tea - while Anne finished off last night's Chinese, I concocted an aberration...
...which tasted ok...
Then the first two episodes of new Netflix Robert De Niro thriller, "Zero Day"...
Of course, post this and trying to watch something else, I drifted off, to be awoken around 11:30 and instructed to head to the land of nod...
Weekend over...
Highlight of the Day : A visit from John and Ali..
