To a tower and a village theatre...

Playlist
Various - 2024 LPs of the Day Playlist

Slept in again...

But we were soon ready to head out...

...and off we went...

...finding this wee place for a tasty breakfast...

Anne tried the tomato on toast while I went for scrambled egg and bacon...

And then, just walking about, taking in the sights...

...including us in a weird shop window...

A cat sighting took us up this alley...

...to a very peaceful square...

...close to which we found this church...

We paid our four Euro fee each to climb the stairs to the top of the building...

Just over 300 steps afforded these top views of the city...

We were suitably impressed...

...before making our way back down...

...to find people worshiping...

...their phones...

Out for more just walking around...

...and to the Cathedral...

...followed by a trek to the edge of the town...

...and then back to Antonio's - as we approached we heard very loud meowing - turned out to be this wee cat which was not happy his lady was outside while he wasn't...

And so he was brough to visit...

...followed by some beers...

...with Anne opting for the cheese sandwich...

...while I repeated the tortilla experience...

Once again, back to the apartment to recharge...

Around three, back out and ice creams enjoyed (as the Churros place was shut for Siesta)...

Down through the main square...

...once again in the unexpected for Spain, rain...

...and down the escalator...

...and a n iced coffee enjoyed as we waited for the bus...

...which soon arrived, to take a motley crew of music lovers to the nearby village of Guadamur...

...and to its splendid theatre, which was the venue for the rest of the weekend's festival events...

The first "act" this evening, was a round table discussion on the music of King Crimson from 1972-1974, with, left to right, our chum Sid Smith, much respected Crimso biographer, members of the band in the era being discussed, David Cross and Bill Bruford, and further Crimso aficionados, Markus Reuter and Anthony Garone, plus the interpreter (also a Crimso biographer), who did a splendid job but, of course, necessarily stopped the natural flow of the conversation...

Some good insights from Cross and Bruford - including a spendid demonstartion of how different peopel can remember things quite differntly...

A break and we went in search of our tea but, for some reason, almost the entire village was shut - we obtained a large packet of crisps from a just closing supermarket and then to the one open bar for a coffee and a Coke Zero...

We spotted this wee chum on the way back...

An impressive full set of solo piano music from Nik Bärtsch was the second act of the night...

...before a break to peruse the merch...

...then Uruguayan jazz guitarist, Beledo, who started off his set with two solo piano pieces...

...which were pretty impressive indeed, considering he's known more as a guitarist - and continued with his band to delight the crowd with a further hour of so of top notch jazz fusion...

...for which we was joined by both Boris Savoldelli from last night and Indonesian jazz fusion maestro Dewa Budjana also on guitar...

Around 11:30, onto the bus home...

...once again, happy that the escalators took us up into the main town...

Home around midnight...

A good day...
