Chocolate, a holy hula hoop, a bridge and the last night...

Playlist
Various - 2024 LPs of the Day Playlist

Very much slept in...

But, again, out asap...

...for a walk through the town...

...and found this excellent churros spot in Calle Santo Tome...

Here since 1936 no less...

Superb way to break our overnight fast...

Onwards...

Heading down towards the river...

...and coming across this new to us thing...

A donation to Toledo in 2000 from Roberto Polo....

Jesus with Hula Hoop...

...and morning moon...

...and sun...

Nice...

On down to the Bridge of San Martin...

...and over...

...to picture it from the other side too...

...and from an adjacent, less picturesque, bridge...

...pressing on...

...to the Puerta de Bisagra Nueva)...

...and the Puerta de Bisagra (not Nueva)...

...opposite which, we found a place for some refreshments...

The beast was happy...

Then, back through the gate and to the Valinor Cafe for lunch...

The beast was happy...

Then, the first of two walks today up the hill to the main part of the town...

Past the Puerta Bab al-Mardum...

The Calle Real del Arrabel afforded some top views...

...and featured cyclist Federico Martin Bahamontes, first Spanish winner of the Tour de France, at the top...

We were not leaving yet...

As Anne headed back to the apartment to pick up a couple of things for this evening, I popped to Carrefour for more provisions and picked up another iced coffee, enjoyed on the promenade by the Roberto Polo Collection...

...along with some chat with small boy Australian footballers on a tour of Spain, concluded on Anne's return, as they went off to continue playing with catapults and bows and arrows purchased in souvenir stores - not sure if those would be allowed back to Oz...

To the escalators...

...and the bus, for the final time, to Guadalmur, arriving around 5pm...

Tonight's concert opened with a splendid set from trumpeter Luca Calabrese...

 with stick players Markus Reuter...

...and Alexander Dowerk...

Not too great pics as, despite having front row seats, we were once more "up the back" to avoid the Dick Photographer...

Enjoyed this so much, I bought the CD, which also features Nguyen Le and Mark Wingfield on guitars...

...and had it signed too...

...including inside by the photographer, whose pic graces the inner sleeve...

Back in the hall, the stage was set...

...for a lovely tribute video to Bill Bruford from top musicians (including of course, many drummers) from around the world, before an extensive interview with Sid Smith and the interpreter, for Spanish attendees...

...and the presentation to Bill, of his much deserved Lifetime Achievement award, by Leonardo...

And then, to the closing of the festival, with Gary Husband on both piano and drums, along with Nguyen Le on guitar...

Superb stuff, which, for me, made tonight probably the best of the four...

All over and back on the bus...

...and dropped near today's gates as the escalators close at 11 on a Sunday and it as almost 12:30am...

And so, said second walk up the hill...

...and through the deserted streets - tonight the buildings not lit up...

..and home around 1 am...

Anne struggled to stay awake at the end of another long and enjoyable day...

Highlight of the Day : Last night of the Fest...
