August away...

Up early...

On Mum's 94th birthday...

Put on your party pants*...

And as of 1 September, this is back up to date (apart form the 62 "picture only" entries)...

Sorting the new Laurie Anderson download re small gaps...

Photos from phone to hard drive...

Editing yesterday's performance...

With Anne in the garden, out and down the road to collect the car and into the office to park and walk round to to Fopp for the last of the equipment to take it home...

Stopped off at the newly revamped BHF and picked up a 2CD set of Phillip Glass for £3...

Home and ripping that while trying to get the burner to work to no avail...

Looking for the Yes CD that Dr Prog bought on Tuesday - purely for the version of Gates of Delirium that was on it, led me to download the soundtrack to "Yes Symphonic" DVD - so some time spent sorting that out...

Pushed back mum's visit to this afternoon to allow Anne to do a shopping with the car...

Learning "Heart Full of Soul" and Paul's suggestion - changing the key from Dm to Am - easier to play and to sing...

Surprise Bacon Lettuce and Tomato roll for lunch...

"Brassic"...

Out to mum's for her birthday visit...

Took an hour to get there re traffic and stopping off for flowers and a card (*with the above message on the front)...

Sheila and Maisie already there...

Cake and coffees...

But the visit was spent, for the most part just arguing about the house and contents insurance and trying to find documents and discussing making a claim re the broken hearing aid from 23/8...

Not much of a birthday...

Did the shopping list for tomorrow so I'll be able to do it in the morning pre the visit in the afternoon for the family meal with me, mum, Sheila, Ali, Julie and Harris while Anne will be at Tynecastle...

Home swiftly, for a change...

Anne back into the garden...

Me busy doing nothing...

No, wait...

Rather, reading the "new" Gerhard Richter book which, along with another on the artist and Alice Cooper manager Shep Gordon's autobiography, all arrived yesterday...

Turns out I already have this particular book but the repurchase is justified by someone having chopped a picture out of my previous copy...

This, the missing item...

Best Spaghetti Bolognese in the world for tea...

While I waited on Anne's culinary expertise, I was listening to music...

No doubt this will be an LP cover at some point...

Patience is a virtue...

"Brassic" again - last one of series 1 and 1st of series 2...

Back upstairs and writing this up for a couple of the Berlin Days...

Downstairs with music and MOTD...

Bed...

Performance day...

Performance day...

Post breakfast, gathered togetehr the stuff and decided to drive just to the bottom of the hill and then get the bus in...

Two reasonably heavy bags and the stand...

Simple...

Arrived at Fopp pre 12 and put everything except the laptop in their back room...

Nice to see I am remembered there...

Out for lunch...

Twenty years ago, I played here...

Today, I'd play here...

I was very kindly allowed to soundcheck for some 35 minutes, creating a new improv...

All set...

Of course, this is not a "normal" gig - only a handful of people were there to hear my stet, most of the people were those popping in to browse or buy...

Here, Keith, Anne and Maureen take in the sounds - other visitors included Dr Prog, Bernie, Gary and Christine - although the last two of those could not stay for the performance itself...

After the set, Fopp posted this picture on their social media...

"A big thank you to @Misterquartet  for an immersive soundscape journey in store today 😌🎶

Check out him out at https://cloudlandbluequartet.bandcamp.com"

Which was nice...

Paced away and joined Anne, Keith and Maureen round at Le DiVin for drinks...

We were joined by Bernie and, later Gary...

...necessarily, due to reservations, moving upstairs...

Then, a walk along to Rustom for a slap up Indian meal...

...and a bus home...

A good day indeed...

Up late...

...and today I needed to sort out the CDs for tomorrow...

Some initial prep done but a mum visit was also required...

She was suitably impressed with the new car...

Not sure what's happened here...

Anyway, actually quite a good visit...

Recorded a wee interview with her, asking her to recall events from her life, across the decades...

1930's, 40's, 50's, 60's and 70's covered before the carers arrived for her lunch...

1980's, 90's, 2000's, 10's and 20's still to go...

Home for lunch, Anne out...

And to work...

Ready to burn...

But, first, tea...

...with one eye on the football as Hearts crashed out of Europe, or rather, stayed in Europe but in a less lucrative competition...

To supposedly burning 10 CDs for tomorrow - all completely different, the content of which, of and on, had taken me all day to create...

Only one CD burned...

The system keeps saying the discs are burned but they remain empty...

Fucksake...

OK no CDs tomorrow then...

Then, I could not for the life of me find the long lead I use to connect the laptop to Fopp's hi fi...

A call to Johnny Weizen - saviour - he was able to cobble one togetehr...

So, went to pick Anne up from the game and then we drove to Roslin for the lead...

Tested it on our return..

It works...

Panic over...

Highlight of the Day : Actually burning one CD - a short lived highlight indeed...
