Up at 6 and getting this up to date (apart from the holes in 2022 and 2023 of course, which will be addressed when I get the chance...

Listening to tracks from yesterday's jazz downloads pre breakfast...

Post breakfast, we were off out and down the hill...

...and waiting on the 900...

..to, as was the case on 3 January last year, take us to "the weedge"...

The soundtrack comprised...

...tracks from 15 of the 20 albums purchased on this day last year....

We arrived in Glasgow after an hour...

After emerging from the Bus Station...

...we split up, with Anne heading to Buchanan Galleries and me to my usual haunts...

...which started with a brief visit to Love, where I saw this for £36...

Yeah, no...

Onwards..

...down Union St - the BHF has stopped selling CDs..

Into FOPP, noting the new Trevor Rabin for £8 but not partaking...

Round the corner to Missing...

I was trying to be more selective with my CD purchasing...

Around 35 minutes in, I was ready, having chosen 5 items for £11 - reasonable - (and having put back a goodly number of items into the racks) just as the EP appeared at my side...

She is not a fan of the shops of records...

We walked up behind Central Station and found an old favourite for lunch, La Pulcinella...

...of which the EP IS a fan...

Tasty pizzas followed some pate and toast...

Then, walking, looking for a coffee place...

On the way, I popped into HMV and got the Rabin CD, while Anne had a look in the jumble sale scenario that is TK Maxx...

Nothing acquired - earlier in John Lewis though, she had spent our gift card from the grand-nephews on a spendid new pot/pan...

A visit to Mono also produced no purchases, then to the Tinderbox for coffee and cakes - which cost more than the five CDs from Missing...

A walk back through George Square...

...and onto the bus home, soundtracked this time by Mr Rabin, whose LP was downloaded on its release back in October...

A walk back up the hill and home, to listening but not yet ripping...

I am going to try to make sure I listen to each CD I buy before I rip them...

Today's haul...

Tasty Krautrock from Kluster co-founder and early member of Tangerine Dream, Conrad Schnitzler...

A 2CD live set from Keith Jarrett's "standards trio" which I know I cannot download as it's on ECM...

Jarrett's constant groaning and humming is, of course a major distraction...

Oh to be able to hear just the three instruments...

An interesting quasi-ambient release on Denovali records...

Norah Jones - yes, sometimes there is a place for vocals in jazz - but, you know, this is not jazz, even though it's on Blue Note...

A superb 22 track compilation of rare Northern Soul items - CD not in great nick but plays fine (huge advantage of CDs over LPs of course)...

...and the Rabin CD...

Late on, "Taskmaster's New Year Treat" very much entertained, as did the remains of yesterday's home made soup...

To bed with ELP just before midnight...

Another good day....

Highlight of the Day : Trip to Glasgow...
