Updating this, trying to keep it going...

...and doing the dishes...

Noting yesterday's pan purchase by Anne...

Also, downloading more music from Conrad Schnitzler, following yesterday's CD purchase, a couple by Jasper Høiby, whose recent LP much impressed - it had not registered with me that he is the bassist from jazz trio faves Phronesis - and, finally, an LP by keyboardist Alan Pasqua, who played with Allan Holdsworth...

At 10, off out, dropping Anne at the foot of Corstorphine Hill, meeting up with Lynn for a walk, while I headed over to see my mum, via Lidl and her home, to pick up her Radio Times and some clothes...

It was Panettone time...

...and a thumbs up for great grandson Kerr, 19 today...

While I was there, the consultant consulted with mum and advise, despite what had been thought, she does not have an infection - but X Ray shows something at the bottom of her left lung.  To ensure it's not  blood clot (he doesn't think it is), mum will need to have a Catscan tomorrow...

He will also instruct the physios to introduce breathing exercises to try and expand lung capacity - as low oxygen levels continue to be a problem - plus concentrating on getting her up on her feet again...

So all, kind of, positive...

Another thumbs up from the ancient...

Out into the day...

More shopping on the way back...

Anne and Lynn were chatting outside the house when I arrived...

Lynn bade us farewell and it was lunchtime...

Post lunch, Anne was off to take her mum to the hairdresser's, I was ripping and cataloguing the new CDs, going past the 12,000 mark...

I've acquired 5,000 CDs in the last 11 years, meaning the first 7,000 were collected over a period of 27 years...

Averages?

First 27 years = 259 pa
Lat 11 years = 454 pa

Last year?  350...

Anne mentioned yesterday that when I die, she will contact Missing Records and sell them to them as a job lot...

Ulp!

Anyway, Anne returned - I was sorting out financial stuff, ensuring our retirement remains on track...

Then, time for tea - sausages from Aldi the other day, with peas and mash...

...accompanied by two episodes of "Leverage", then the preposterous "Madame Blanc Mysteries"...

By this time, I was feeling a bit under the weather, having contracted Anne's cold from last weekend...

Oh well...

I'd e-mailed Malcolm earlier today asking for the date for the Capital Models gig in Balerno to be confirmed...

Tonight, a call with him...

He'd been to the venue and spoken with the owner's wife - apparently the owner is still under the weather - he's had an op and, on returning home, developed sepsis - anyway, long story short, no gig - they are having a rethink about their business and have decided not to have any more live music...

Very frustrating that we've been strung along for some 18 weeks waiting on a date.  Anyway, onwards and upwards and 2024 work commences on Sunday...

To bed with a Focus classic...

Highlight of the Day : Sausages probably...
