Last day in Bernkastel-Kues...
Last day of August...
A call to my mum on her birthday...
I thought this wine was 16.5 Euros...
A visit to Cafe Hansen had always been on the cards...
Apfelstrudel for me...
...while Anne had something she likes...
More walking about...
Sausages for tea...
...and wine probiering...
...as well as that old guy in the witness protection programme whose cover we blew...
While clouds threatened, nothing untoward was forthcoming...
We watched the soundcheck of a kind of punky covers band but retired before they came back for their set under jet-strewn skies...
Home in the twilight...
Highlight of the Day : Busy doing nothing...
Last day in Bernkastel-Kues...
Last day of August...
A call to my mum on her birthday...
We decided to do virtually nothing...
...except walk about in a relaxing fashion...
...like the geese...
I thought this wine was 16.5 Euros...
A visit to Cafe Hansen had always been on the cards...
Apfelstrudel for me...
...while Anne had something she likes...
Yum...
Well...
More walking about...
...and back home for a rest...
...and back out again...
The wine festival was to start at five...
We enjoyed a beer as we waited...
...and visited the church next to the bar to pass the time...
...before nipping home for more drink on the terrace...
...and then down for the start of four days of wine-based madness...
Sausages for tea...
...including this long (but deceptively thin) beast...
There was music...
...and wine probiering...
Dillinger was there...
...as well as that old guy in the witness protection programme whose cover we blew...
I realised later that a shot similar to these was used on the cover of the festival programme...
Oh well...
Drinking and blowing was taking place...
Your correspondents were partaking...
A return to the ice cream shop was also made...
While clouds threatened, nothing untoward was forthcoming...
...but they provided good light...
We watched the soundcheck of a kind of punky covers band but retired before they came back for their set under jet-strewn skies...
Home in the twilight...
Highlight of the Day : Busy doing nothing...

Looks really lovely. Did you buy a glass and fill it as often as you like?? That's what we've done!
2 Euros deposit on each glass and, on average, around 2 Euros for 0.1ml of wine a time...
