Off out this early evening to The Fringe at The Peasance...
On the way, we passed a lorry, of which a picture had to be taken...
An oblique reference perhaps to the Trumpets of Satan...
A drink with the EP...
...and spotting a celebrity...
A queue and then in for our first show of the evening, Nick Helm...
We know him from "Uncle" and "Loaded", the latter unmentioned, the former slagged off early on...
Very funny show with witty songs - getting the audience to sing along refrains about death and suicide whilst clapping...
Much mention of the "C" word and a long story regarding rather painful intimate relations...
And a cracking, if rather ill fitting Alice Cooper T shirt to boot...
Good stuff...
More drinks and queueing...
And into Pleasance 1 for the welcome return, after two years away, of Richard Herring...
"Oh Frig, I'm 50"...
He was very good indeed as he told us about his coming to terms with aging, with particular reference to the differences between his 40 year old self of "Fuck Me I'm 40" and the new Richard Herring, husband and father...
This penguin game sums up our lives apparently - he is right...
Another good takeaway is that, of course, a mother's love for her child is absolutely the most unremarkable love in the world...
A mother would love her offspring, no matter what popped out of her "C" word...
The hour whizzed by - great to see Mr Herring again...
Out into the gathering twilight...
...and to a nearby Indian for some tasty onion bhajees and chicken/lamb karahis...
A walk to Princes St...
...and a tourist packed bus home...
Word from Johnny and Keith that the first playing by the trio will take place tomorrow afternoon...
A good way to end a good night...
Highlight of the Day : Richard Herring...
