Up reasonably early and, with the podcast already up online, listening firstly to my recent demos, which I recorded with a view to playing with Johnny W on drums and Keith A on bass...

Followed by the run through from February with Johnny, over which I'd then dubbed my own bass lines in the absence of Keith...

Then, creating an imaginary Beatles CD featuring solo recordings by the so-called Fab Four released in 1973...

This is how I waste my time...

Lovely breakfast at home from the EP, scrambled eggs on toast with lashings of coffee...

Then, gathering together guitars, CDs of songs, lyric/music sheets, stands, leads etc and loading up the car and into town with Anne to hand back the CDs borrowed three weeks ago from the library...

We parked at the west end and walked for around a mile or so to the library...

A browse in a couple of record stalls at the Grassmarket brought no purchases...

Up Victoria Street...

...and to the library, where these two beauties were hired out...

Then, down Candlemaker Row...

..and back into the Grassmarket...

The town is super busy right now...

A walk back to the car and home for a sandwich, ripping the hired CDs (I had seven of the ten Mitchell CDs already) and then out and over to Roslin to Johnny's place...

We were so busy, I forgot to take any pics but the view was mainly the same as our last get together 27 weeks ago - but, this time, Keith was in attendance...

I gave them both CDs of my recent demos, in the hope I can encourage them to consider playing original material...

We then rattled through 22 covers - pretty well too, all things considered...

Johnny's daughter Chloe insisted we were far too loud...

In fairness, she was probably right but it was up to her dad to set the volume levels...

I promised a further CD to Keith of the February sessions, sans my bass, for him to play along to at home...

They enjoyed the covers so much, I am not too hopeful of them wanting to play a large selection of CBQ material...

But we will reconvene in mid-September...

Home around 6:45 to find Queens had beaten Dumbarton 1-0 at home, while Hearts managed a respectable 0-0 draw at Castle Greyskull, home of Scotland's newest club...

Tinned soup for tea, with more toast...

A quick listen through to today's tapes (better than I'd expected) and then, at 9, the very welcome return of "Montalbano" for a new series...

I suspect, in Italy, these are shown as 4 half hour parts rather than one long, rambling but, nonetheless, highly enjoyable 2 hour session...

A programme on BBCFour re Bob Monkhouse's final gig, at the Albany Club in front of an invited audience of stand up comics, shortly before his death, was enjoyable and illuminating...

A further programme on the man was recorded for later viewing, as Morpheus paid a visit...

And so to bed...
