The view this morning, with the early mist...

...which the sun was soon burning off...

Oriental tourists were in town early and seemed to have spotted my photographic recording efforts...

Breakfast...

...and out...

...and up the main street...

...looking back...

...and forward...

...and back...

...again...

...to the top of the town and over, into the woods...

...past these...

...and on...

Our initial target was the waterfall...

..followed by the chapel...

...overlooked by an appropriate cross on the hills above...

A red squirrel was spotted and tracked - this the best shot I could get of the quick wee monkey...

On to the top...

...where we were rewarded with these views...

We saw this plane in the owner's garden five years ago as we sailed down the river...

...including the new bridge we'd past on the way here yesterday...

Cheer up Mr CBQ!

Back down the quicker but sore on the knees re steepness route...

...spotting these beauties on the way...

Home for rolls, cake and fruit....

...then back out into the sun...

...and over the river...

..from where we could see where we'd been this morning...

We'd considered the "crazy" golf but Anne reckoned it wasn't crazy enough...

So we had some ice cream instead...

...and watched the swans go by...

Then we walked up the hill further into Kues, in the baking sun...

We wondered...

...why there was a lobster in the church...

Back down to the river through the, frankly, deserted town...

...and back to our terrace for refreshments in the shade...

Then, to Dillinger - we were last here 10 years ago - 5 years ago when we arrived with Brodski and Penny, it was shut for a holiday...

Turned out today was its last day open before the upcoming wine festival...

Lucky for us...

A starter of home made wurst salad - super tasty...

Then, down to the river bank and...

...possibly the best Schnell Imbiss in Germany...

My schnitzell and pommes were superb - mind you, I was a little the worse for wear...

Home under the rising moon...

...and setting sun...

In the square, preparations for the festival were underway - with a bar being built around the St Michael fountain...

It goes without saying that wine is the most important thing here...

Lights out...

Highlight of the Day : A walk up the hill...
