A dreich day today with little to report...
The Laura Pausini listening continued in the afternoon, after a morning of Miles and his mid sixties cohorts, Shorter, Hancock, Carter and Williams...
In the evening, an episode of "Supernatural" before Anne came home, then, 100 points scored between us at "University Challenge" where Birmingham were on fire, knocking out a hapless St Andrews...
First in the new series of "Taskmaster" on the Tivo - much enjoyed...
Upstairs with coffee...
...to sample two new arrivals on the Hat Hut label...
Recent discovery, trumpeter Manuel Mengis and his band Gruppe 6 with some tasty jazz...
Mr M also appears in two other recently stumbled across bands, Le Pot and Hicsuntleones...
And then, this - piano music in the main by India born Clarence Barlow, who teaches in California...
Interesting works, some of which are based on pieces by Clementi, Schumann, Ravel & Beethoven and music derived from his own pieces derived from those composers - if you follow...
Difficult in places, tuneful in others...
Another three from this label awaited, spurred on by the recent Wolpe acquisition - and a basket of as yet trigger unpulled items on it too...
