Opened the day with three Hawkwind albums from Jorg's hard drive and by adding even more Hawkwind (and Queen) to the iTunes which I use to organise my music across seven(!) hard drives...

Mention of Desert Island Dics on the Twitter, led me to seek out this - compiled back in October 2003 and, rather hubristically, containing my then own latest LP...

Whilst looking for it, I came across this and so it too was added to iTunes...

It comprises one track from each of the 44 albums which feature at least one member of Miles Davis' second great quintet, Wayne Shorter, Herbie Hancock, Ron Carter and Tony Williams, released during the quintet's lifetime...

That was how I wasted my time around six or seven years ago - but it brought dividends today...

Out for provisions and breakfast at home, soundtracked by my erstwhile Desert Island Discs...

Out to meet up with...

Dr Prog for...

...a record fair, watched over by the lord...

I'd been doing quite well on the old CD buying front this week - just one disc for just £1 - until...

Oh well...

14 new albums for £24 is not bad - on Amazon, re their very cheapest options, these'd've cost me almost £90.  Of course, I wouldn't have bought them for that...

This is the conundrum...

There is some top notch music here though...

However, all these new CDs create a storage problem of course...

And the bargain became less of a bargain when I realised I'd lost my glasses somewhere on the way home...

Goddammit...

An afternoon of ripping and listening as Anne watched Hearts scrape a 2-2 draw at home to St Johnstone...

Meanwhile, in Dumfries, things couldn't be much worse...

Three weeks ago, when we were in London. At the start of the day, Queens were top of the league...

As of 4:45 this evening they are 6th...

Wheels.  Off...

An evening of more listening...

Ended the day with some "Damned" on the Tivo - a good conclusion and some laughs throughout the series but, overall, merely reinforced the received wisdom re what an absolute shambles Social Work is and the utter hopelessness of it all...

Some uninteresting footie and bed with Ralph Towner...

Highlight of the day : New acquisitions...
