Up early and time once again to update the red books of CDs I own...

Before...

Of course, coffee was required...

After...

Then I noticed that, back in March, due to not being able to read my own handwriting, I'd skipped 80 numbers...

Accordingly, over 350 entries in the book had to be amended...

Idiot...

A visitor...

It was Tiger the Cat Who Bears No Resemblance Whatsoever to a Tiger...

At midday, into the car and over to pick up Olly for a trip...

We were off down to Dumfries to watch Queens play Alloa in the Quarter Final of the Irn Bru Cup...

A two hour journey ensued but the time flew as our 15 year old nephew took an interest in loadsa stuff and fully engaged in proper conversation...

Into the Queen of the South Arena to secure our tickets and partake of some lunch...

On our way into the ground, we bumped into new Queens manager (interim) and all round club hero re, amongst many other things, his performance in the 2008 Scottish Cup final against the now no longer in existence Glasgow Rangers, Mr "Big" Jim Thomson...

I shook his hand and wished him well...

Here he is during the warm up...

A minute's silence of Remembrance...

There are 88 quite excellent pictures, taken during the game by professional photographer, Stephen Lang, here - in this diary though, are my own, less professional recording of proceedings...

Here we are in one of Mr Lang's pics, albeit, in the background...

OK, here's the actual pic (c) Stephen Lang...

Anyway, kick off...

Queens were on top for most of the first half bar a couple of close shaves but, having hit the bar and having had a couple saved off the line, it took till the 41st minute for Stephen Dobbie to effortlessly curl a shot from just outside the box off the left post and into the net...

Half time, 1-0 and further good things expected...

Some people had come from further afield than Edinburgh...

Into the second half..

Only being 1-0 up, things got a bit hairy at times but Alloa never bettered an excellent first half shot that clattered off  the post...

Meanwhile, some geese were going somewhere...

...and the moon was well and truly out...

Finally, on the 76th minute, a second goal, again from Dobbie, this time with a header...

It could have been 5-0 or indeed 2-2 (if all Alloa's chances had gone in)...

All over - for a less partisan view, the BBC's review is here...

Two goal hero leaves the pitch...

We split our drive home with a stop, after an hour, in Biggar at the Taj Mahal Indian Restaurant...

Olly advised that, although he'd had many takeaways, this was his first visit to an Indian restaurant...

Superb food and great, friendly staff - very much recommended by your trio of football-watching travellers...

Great chat on the way home again from Olly, asking tons of questions about music and how it all works, from the music itself to its distribution..

Top man...

Back home, Anne enjoyed "Strictly" while I caught up with other stuff - although I did catch Ed Balls' "Gangham Style"...

In the year of Brexit and Trump hwe might well win...

Lights out on a good day...

Highlight of the Day : Spending time with our nephew...
