A Saturday spent at home...

Up around 6 and "working"...

Bringing this up to date and compiling and designing a wall calendar for Anne's mum and a a desk calendar for Anne and another Xmas present took me until around 1:30pm...

Initial listening was the purchased intake from yesterday...

The third LP on the 3CD set of Riverside label jazz is a weird one - basically a track fades in, there's a drum solo and then the track fades out...

Luckily, the other two discs are top notch...

The Hisada is excellent difficult listening - just the way I like my classical music to be (most of the time)...

Later, I took the opportunity to commence sampling the 100 or so titles gifted to me last night by Brother-in-Law Keith, who is quite relaxed about letting go...

As mentioned yesterday, whilst having made some judicious decisions as regards keepers, he is moving over to the dark side - the majority of his listening is now done in streaming mode...

And so these have joined the fray...

...along with this 10CD box of Albert Ayler - who makes John Coltrane sound like Kenny G...

A horrendous racket/top notch progressive music depending on your mood...

Luckily, Anne was off uptown so was not subjected...

Sandwiches were brought home for lunch just as the work on the calendars ended...

Listening and ripping continued throughout the afternoon, as I kept an eye on Queens v Hibs at Easter Rd...

We witnessed the last game there, when Queens came from 1-0 down at half time to win 3-1 - only to be thrashed in the next round of that particular cup 5-0 by Scotland's newest club...

Today they were "pumped" 4-0 and the dreadful league form continues - unbeaten for the first nine weeks of the season and top of the table, they've now lost 5 in a row after two 0-0 draws and, despite today's defeat, remain in 6th spot...

Luckily, it's only a game...

For no particular reason, decided to return the design of this to a former template...

A scaled back Indian takeaway for tea and an evening of telly with "Strictly", another attempt to "get into" "Casualty" (due to enjoying "Holby" so much), a "Taskmaster" on the Tivo and a little bit of "Match of the Day" before hitting the sack with Dio...

Highlight of the Day : New music...
