Surprisingly, finished off the Blue Note project today - I have 315 titles which would take as many hours to listen to all the way through - 13 days, 24/7...

I won't be doing that but I have been listening to quite a lot of jazz over the past few days...

And the excellent 2CD compilation "Straight No Chaser" was on the Cloudland Blue Mobile Stereo Music Purveyance Apparatus this morning as we drove to the far side of town, to the opticians to order two new pairs of specs and a pair of prescription sunglasses for Mr CBQ...

Bargain...

I forgot to mention that, on Thursday, I had my eyes tested...

I have been advised to "speck up" 80% of the time, with varifocles now being deemed necessary to meet my ongoing being able to see stuff properly requirements...

With that sorted, to the Meadows Festival for a meet with Dr Prog...

Weather not good - dull and windy...

...as we passed the Argyle Bar, where Sombre Reptiles once had a residency (of sorts)...

...which led to the formation of pre Pet Shop Boys synth pop duo Love Parade...

To the Meadows Festival to find it had been mostly cancelled due to high winds...

Prior to the stalls shutting down and packing up...

I picked these up from the Lothian Cat Rescue bric-a-brac stall...

Just one of your English pounds sterling each...

The unbuilt stage in the distance indicated that, sadly, there would be no music today...

...so we would be unable to compare 2015's fayre with the sterling offerings served up in 1984...

I still have both the guitar and the Yamaha CS5 synthesiser which are being used here by Mr CBQ and Count Brodski to delight the capacity crowd of thousands (unpictured) - the tape deck re the self created electronic pop music backing tracks is long gone though...

As is my hair...

As are my discernible waist and chin lines...

We met Phil in a nearby cafe...

This is not him...

...and chat, soup, quiche, coffee, juice and tea were all enjoyed...

Take a look at these hands, take a look at these hands - as Talking Heads might say...

Then a walk back to the Festival, now well and truly "cancelled" - so we continued to the music library...

These horses arses were all I saw of a drumming and fluting parade...

...and these were borrowed...

We left Phil heading to buy some blank DVDs (don't ask) and made our way back to the car, through the still very windy Meadows...

...and the Argyle Bar...

..scene of the...no, wait, I've done that bit...

Onward...

...through the wind and, generally, nice leafiness...

...and home for some listening, admiring the blooming garden on the way in...

A Tivo'd "George Gently" very much enjoyed in the evening...

Along with a very small, split between us, Indian - moderation is the key...

Right you two...

Highlight of the Day : A wee kind of day out despite inclemency cancellations...
