Out pre breakfast and a drive around Felsberg and Gensungen...

This was once Pizzeria da Franco - where, 35 years ago, "the one with the egg on it" was popular with your correspondent, of an evening...

Amongst these trees and bushes is the stream mentioned in the CBQ song "Half a Lifetime Away" now, itself, over ten years old...

At the crossroads, the Edeka Markt, from where beer provisions would be obtained...

...unless being partaken of here at the Ederblick pub...

The house of the long-suffering Frau Desselberger, who would often give me a lift to the school...

Up the hill where the 1st of May was celebrated possibly slightly too enthusiastically in 1981...

Good views back over the town...

Langenwaldstrasse 12 - where Sombre Reptiles were born...

The majority of the 1st floor was our abode...

In hindsight, the hill is not that steep, or indeed as long...

The railway station "Gensungen Felsberg, hier Gensungen Felsberg"...

The Swan - after one particularly enjoyable evening out with the teachers, post 5-a-sides, a generously donated fridge was carried up some stairs back at Langenwaldstrasse, extra strength having seemingly been provided by the beer available here...

It broke down the next day...

The Felsburg...

...and, the church...

Overlooking the Sonnenschein house...

Home for breakfast with Yvonne...

...and Teja...

...who liked my watch...

In the paper, the charts in December 1970 provided an interesting juxtaposition of heavy metal and easy listening...

We said farewell to Teja as he was off to football camp, and drove into Kassel for a wander round, having arranged to meet Yvonne there later, once she'd seen Teja off...

Found a parking spot near this interesting shop...

...and headed up the hill into town...

...past art galleries...

...and indications of past Documentas...

...and big cinemas...

...taking a route not previously taken...

...noting this performance which we will miss...

...and these celebrations, which we will also miss...

A visit to a large department store - the Germans like their chocolate...

In two years' time, we hope to be back - and this area will be full of art-related shenanigans...

Up to the Kulturbahnhof, with Borofsky's now permanently sited "Man Walking into the Sky"...

Nothing to see other than this piece dedicated to the people killed in Nazi concentration camps...

Each rock has a biography of a victim, wrapped around it...

Onward into the future and a visit to Scheibenbeisser - now trading for 25 years in Kassel...

Suffice to say...

...some spending of European Euros was undertaken...

Over the road to the restaurant where we were to meet Yvonne...

It was sunny...

This yoghurt drink was a mistake...

These falafel and following on wrap were not...

Tea/Espresso on the house...

Then a walk...

Cathedral in the distance...

Trams in the distance...

You get the picture...

Here, the site of the one-time Kassel record shop, Heini Weber, where, in late 1980, your correspondent purchased his first Fehlfarben record - today I'd purchased my latest acquisition by them...

The Einkaufsbummel was in aid of new shoes for the Exec Producer but no suitable footwear was found...

We made our way back to the car...

In the distance pt IV - the Herkules Monument...

We drove back to Felsberg, picked up our bags and said goodbye to Yvonne, before driving over the bridge into Gensungen and to Jorg's house...

Where we were met by our Godson, Ansem, now 14...

Jorg has moved back to his parents' home, where he lived when we first met him as a 17 year old electronic engineering apprentice, having a beer at the Ederblick bar all those years ago...

He's currently renovating the first floor, where his grandmother lived until she died four years ago...

Xenia arrived for tea - her mobile still stuck to her hand...

Pizza time!

I had "the one with the egg on it"...

After which, Ansem headed off to a party...

A wee gift to Jorg from Scotland...

They are not as big as they look...

The lovely sunny evening was spent on the balcony chatting...

...apart from Xenia...

The moon was out...

...as Jorg considered my German purchases thus far...

He was at this Udo Lindenberg concert...

A visit from Jorg's mum...

...and a small bird...

...as night drew in...

The planets were also out...

As were, eventually, the lights...

Highlight of the Day : Meeting up with Jorg Sonnenschein again...
