Up and out early - the skies above the apartment did not look promising...

The beast was underway along Buntentorsteinweg...

...to Penny for provisions...

By the time I got home...

...things were a bit brighter...

..and the birds were singing...

...as I set up breakfast...

...for a happy Executive Producer...

Out for the day...

Past last night's cat featuring bar...

The skies did not look too good...

...other than in the direction we were not going...

Past the strange architecture of the seemingly closed down...

...Schwankhalle...

...which featured this artifact in its grounds...

Along past a lake...

...and a hospital...

...and over two bridges...

...into the old town...

...with its cathedral...

...its Town hall...

...as the always threatening rain started to fall...

We took shelter at Tourist Information - this, one of countless statues around the town referenceing the Brothers Grimm tale of the "Town Musicians of Bremen" (who never actually reached Bremen)...

Meanwhile, outside, the shower had passed and so we familiarised ourselves with the Altstadt...

Roland...

The musicians (again)...

The main square...

St Peter's Cathedral...

The Rathaus...

...and the market square behind the cathedral...

Then, to the Böttcherstraße...

...with its pealing Glocken...

Back to the square and yet more musician animals...

Dog...

Cat...

Cockerel..

...and Donkey...

Into the cathedral, where some beautiful singing from a group of Eastern European schoolchildren...

...was enjoyed, despite the very rude ongoing conversation of the two elderly gentlemen behind us...

Meanwhile, the rain continued to threaten...

Time for lunch...

...luckily under cover as the skies opened...

..and duly cleared up again just as we finished...

What's this?

Saturn...

A couple of purchases were made...

Then, a walk down to the Stadtgraben park and lake, past these wee pigs...

...where a windmill beckoned...

Time for a rest...

...and a look at my acquisitions...

...and some coffee and cake...

The heat was now on as we walked round the road that follows he course of the old city wall...

...and into the Schnoor...

...where the changeable weather led us inside...

...to partake of the unique Schnoor Brau...

As we headed home back over the bridge...

The rain started pelting down...

By the time we got home, we were soaked through despite our umbrellas...

Coffee was enjoyed in our new, purchased in the Böttcherstraße, cups...

After a rest and some TV, out again to nearby Kuß Rosa for drinks...

...befroe walking along towards Leibnizplatz, to Miro for a very tasty Mexican...

...including a vodka and red pimento sauce shot, on the house...

Fiery!

Home late to Yorckstrasse, where last night's cat was briefly spotted...

A packed, enjoyable day...

Highlight of the Day : relaxing coffee at the windmill...
