King Crimson - The Young Person's Guide to King Crimson

Today, had she lived, would have been sister Pam's 52nd birthday...

Today, she would have reached the age which I was, when she lost her brave, year long fight against a particularly malignant brain tumour...

Well, I miss her...

As you would expect...

I was up fairly early...

36 hours later, I can't really remember what I was up to - no doubt some nonsense at the computer as usual...

A walk to the grocery store, just a mile there and back all told, for some breakfast and lunch provisions and some milk - the weather dull and threatening to rain...

The postie brought this Blue Note title, a band formed to celebrate the label's 50th birthday back in 2009...

The disc comprises covers of highlights from the label's most successful period, the decade from the late 50's through to the late 60's...

In the afternoon, I decided to ensure all King Crimson I own is ripped to a hard drive and available on iTunes for listening...

More of a task than I'd thought really...

But afforded the opportunity to listen to some Crimso, so it's not all bad - we will see them in September post our Canadian trip...

In the evening, to the Howgate restaurant for a meal for Pam's birthday...

In attendance tonight my mum, me, Anne, sister Sheila, nephew Andy's wife Tori, her sister Louise and Andy's son, Kerr...

Andy, Alastair and Julie couldn't be with us due to prior commitments...

But a good time was had - with eye spy filling probably too much of it truth be told...

The food was good and my mum managed three courses - the first unpictured...

She did not eat her ice cream as fast as it appears from this...

And I'm sure Tori will not thank me for posting this...

Took mum home around eleven, with the twilight coming in as we approach the 21st...

Back home, another Will Ferrell film sucked us in as we switched the TV on to watch one more episode of "The Goldbergs", having enjoyed a trio mid afternoon...

"The Goldergs" were eschewed in favour of Will's "Old School"...

To bed, well past 1am...

Happy Birthday wee sis...

Highlight of the Day : Remembering...
