Hairy and edible...

Slept in till past 8 am - unlike me for a Saturday...

The morning was spent helping the Exec Producer executively produce a tasty wee compilation for her best chum Lynn, re Lynn’s upcoming birthday on Monday, which we were to celebrate tonight...

A cracking dancey selection was chosen and put into order by Anne before I stuck it all together on to a disc, ensuring all volumes were correct, organising suitable cross fades and putting together a picturesque cover...

Took Anne to her mum’s for the Hearts game – against Motherwell again - 3-3 after being 3-0 up – Queens drew 2-2 with Cowdenbeath, a penalty save earning them a point but dropping to sixth in the table despite this...

Back home it was into the attic, searching for an old bootleg tape I was looking to transfer to the hard drive...

Despite finding over 600 tapes, the very one I was looking for, Uriah Heep Edinburgh Odeon 1974, was nowhere to be seen...

Various other stuff was looked at – nothing was brought back into the main body of the house though...

Found a bootleg on the net of a gig just a couple of weeks ago by the reformed UK - Eddie Jobson and John Wetton – sadly no Allan Holdsworth, Bill Bruford or even Terry Bozzio – but worthy replacements on hand...

Into town to collect sister Pam from Waverley Station, soundtracked by said tasty concert - not realising the station’s vehicular entrance is now closed while renovations are carried out...

Accordingly I had to stay with the car outside the station and guide Pam to me by mobile phone - and so it was that getting out of the station was adjudged to have been the worst part of the journey – which had gone swimmingly until alighting from the train...

A short drive through the rain out to Loanhead and Pam was greeted by my mum, who hasn’t seen her since before Pam’s second brain op, six weeks antibiotic treatment, pneumonia and a further six weeks of concurrent radio and chemotherapy - despite all that, Pam was looking pretty good...

Sadly, her fne looking hair is actually a wig - her main side effect re the treatment being the loss of her previously un-naturally (for a Reilly) thick hair...

Of course, your correspondent could not resist a wee fitting...

Not a look to be repeated, according to the Exec Producer...

Home and a quick turnaround and back into town to First Coast, the rain now having given way to sunny skies...

An excellent celebrationary meal was enjoyed with Lynn, Ross, their sons Scott and Stuart, Lynn’s sisters Joan and Sheila and Sheila’s partner Tim...

Lynn’s cake was adorned with a photo of her as a child...

An edible photo no less...

Post meal, the boys took a bus home while the rest of us headed to the Mercat Bar for a few drinks before taxi’ing it home after a very enjoyable evening...

To bed just before two, not too much the worse for wear...

Highlight of the Day : Sister Pam “home”; Exec Producer compiling; Live UK; Birthday celebrations – everything really...
