A day of waiting...

Was advised late last night that Pam's brain op to remove the cyst, which has had such a debilitating effect on her over the last two weeks, was to happen today...

Called the hospital at 11 and they couldn't advise when it would take place...

Called at 3 and was advised Pam was on the "Emergency List", meaning she would be operated on after those ops scheduled for today had been carried out...

Then, at 3:40, a call from a doctor at her bedside to say they were prepping her and she was off to theatre in 10 minutes and did I have any messages for her...

Just that I loved her and not to worry and everything was going to be fine, I said...

Home through the gloom...

...most of the snow has gone...

With Anne out at a new Zumba class with Lynn, I took my mind off things by watching the excellent Transatlantic DVD provided by Dr Prog on Saturday - I even saw myself in the front row during the track filmed at the High Voltage festival in the summer...

At 8:30, with Anne busy in the kitchen, it was time to call again...

Pam's op was over but she was still in recovery...

Anne's delicious chorizo and creme fraiche based pasta dish nourished, while programmes on the History of German Art and on Michel Roux trying to teach children how to be restaurant staff, despite the fact that none of them seemed to have any manners, respect or idea of how to behave generally, diverted...

At 10 it was time for another call...

I was extremely happy to be advised, Pam was back on the ward, was speaking again and said she felt "loads better"...

That'll do for me!

A quick round of calls, texts and e-mails to family and friends then lights out on a small victory with Mr Fripp on the cans...

Taking each day at a time...

Highlight of the Day : Pam back on the ward, cyst removed...
