Yesterday, on our way to Bamburgh, we passed the sign for the National Museum of Flight, which suggested today’s trip...

And so, the museum was our target as we set off around 11...

We came here around eight years ago but it’s a much more enjoyable experience now – especially with the inclusion of one of the very few remaining Concorde aircraft – and this was our first goal...

Despite its reputation for jet-setting luxury, it was surprisingly cramped inside...

What a wonderful achievement though this supersonic passenger aircraft was – what a pity it’s now grounded for good...

How long till the human race’s space programme goes the same way?

All in all we spent a good four and a half hours taking in everything the museum had on offer – spread out over many of the original airfield buildings from as long ago as the First World War...

This included a flight simulator – guess which of these is mine and which is the Exec Producer’s...

Another enjoyable day out...

In the evening I continued initial preparations for a live performance – in a quandary though as ever, re what and how to play...

Highlight of the Day : Being on board Concorde...
