Under the weather...

We have been managing to get out and about almost every day during this, our annual September holiday which, for no particular reason, we have decided to spend at home this year...

Being at home, it’s hard not to just spend the entire day in front of the computer - especially when, as today, Anne is ill, having had a relapse of her cold...

So, post (a) the gym (b) shopping at Tesco and (c) doing the dishes, I managed to persuade Anne that we should take a trip out to enjoy the latest “Cats and Dogs” film, as recommended by Meg the Black Cat...

However, upon arriving at the Cinema and availing ourselves of the car parking facilities, we found the doors still closed and our chosen film only being shown on Saturday and Sunday this week...

To avoid the £3.20 parking charge, we hung about till the box office opened for the slightly later films and I sidled up to the counter and surreptitiously validated our parking, before we ran off, jumped in the car and drove home to watch Saturday night’s “Merlin” instead...

“Double the guard!!”...

The postie brought a present for Anne from me and Meg – Matthew Bourne’s choreographed “Swan Lake”, which she’d wanted to see but it proved not possible...

She will wait until fully fit again before watching – by all accounts this is a very special version of the ballet indeed – with men rather than women playing the swans...

In the afternoon, I came across work I’d done but forgotten about re a 2CD “best of” CBQ covering the eight song-based albums released since 1997...

Featuring four tracks from each LP, it’s non–chronological with no consecutive tracks from any LP – juxtaposition city – but, as yet, I’d merely compiled the track list and running order – so of course, this afternoon, while Anne lay on the sofa ill, I constructed the 2CDs and listened through, while the rain lashed against the window...

The weather today was not good...

But the food was - a tasty sea bass fillet on a bed of chorizo and butter beans with roast potatoes...

In the evening, I drove Anne into town for a Stephen Fry cinema broadcast re his new autobiography - which is eagerly awaited from Amazon by Anne - came home, sang through an 80 minute set - the first of the two discs above) then drove back into town to pick her up again...

A very enjoyable evening for the Exec Producer despite still being very much under the weather...

Highlight of the Day : Sea Bass and Chorizo...
