On the rocks...

Another hot, sunny day...

Up early and out after breakfast to the nearby "Elephant" Tower, so called because of the small elephant statue attached to its side...

Over the days of 2 and 3 May, due to the Festival di Sant'Efisio, over 100 monuments and historical sites in the city are made open to the public free of charge...

Very steep stairs but great views...

To St Remy for the flea market - a few jewellery stalls - disappointing..

Down to the bus station at the sea front where we bought day tickets and took the bus out to the beach at Poetta...

We relaxed for a couple of hours, sitting on the rocks out at the very end of the harbour, before enjoying a cooling ice cream...

Then back on the bus and up the coast alongside the salt flats which are home to hundreds of flamingoes...

On the way back into the city, we stopped off at another, disappointing market...

Back in town we popped into Barcellona Cafe for lovely coffee and, after a sit down to watch the world go by at Piazza Yenne, we went back to St Remy and dropped into the art school to watch some dancing with annoying bongoes and to see a 3D film of Cagliari in the 18th century - we spotted "our" house...

After a rest from all the walking, and a read (I am getting through William Woodruff's "Concise History of the Modern World" and quite enlightening it is too), we were out again around 7 pm and wandered down into the town to an area not previously explored...

Found a wee bar just before closing and had a quick beer before coming across a pizza place called "Rossopomodoro" for a couple of lovely pizzas...

Walked back to Piazza Yenne for more beer at our wee pub before struggling up the hill home...

Tonight's "big" film was "The Mummy Returns" - in Italian...

Highlight of the Day : Relaxing at the beach...
