Up at 9:20, a long lie...

Sunny - as to be expected in the Mediterranean...

Walked down to the main square in the town and watched the procession for the Festival di Sant'Efisio - a Roman soldier coverted to Christianity who, early in the 4th Century, was martyred for the cause on a beach near Cagliari...

Lots of people in traditional dress on carts drawn by large passive bullocks...

The festival lasts four days - today they took the statue of the saint down to the beach at nearby Nora, where he was killed and, on Monday, they bring it back again...

We took breakfast at City Bar - lovely coffee and pastries - then walked back up the hill to the old town and found the cathedral...

We went back to the flat, which was situated nearby, before venturing out again into the 90+ degree heat...

Ice cream was called for - and received from a place just round the corner - tasty...

We walked back down to the shore and checked bus and train timetables re any excursions we might make - then back up the hill again to the main square where we sat ansd relaxed with an expensive beer each...

Then up the even steeper hill to the flat for a sleep late afternoon - with aching legs from all the up the hill down the hill shananigans...

Back down the hill to the square and found a new bar with Sardinian Beer which we enjoyed with complimentary pretzel sticks and popcorn before finding a nearby pizzeria for dinner...

Walked back up the hill a bit to the Communale Auditorium where we bought tickets for a show tonight featuring music of the late 17th Century - accompanied by some dancing using choreography devised at that time...

Interesting...

Pre show we took a coffee at the opposite Bar Barcellona...

Post the show we walked home and relaxed in the flat, giving the old legs a rest...

Highlight of the Day : Getting to know the town...
