Monday - time, it flies...

...because I'm writing this next Saturday...

Today, we were up town (top ranking) sorting out stuff re Anne's mum...

Firstly, to my office to get docs signed, then, a walk to the east end, via Charlotte Square...

...and along Thistle Street, making a stop at the Cobbled Roastery for coffees while Anne addressed some envelopes...

Your correspondent opted for Hot Chocolate for a wee change...

To the Post Office and an inordinate amount of money paid to protect documents in the post...

So it goes...

Through Princes St Gardens...

...and along Market St...

...past the council building...

...to the solicitor re more stuff...

...noting Calton Hill in the distance...

With everything sorted, it was tme for lunch...

We tried to go to the Pakora Bar on Holyrood Rd but it was shut for some reason...

And so, an experiment took place...

Next door was Wuji_ Asian Circle...

In we went...

You cook your main ingredients yourself at your table, accompaniments coming from the kitchen and you can choose various sauces and other condiments...

Stuff was chosen...

...in the nice surroundings...

...and, we waited, sauces etc having been secured...

Our seven main ingredients arrived...

...along with rice, salad and miso soup...

..and the cooking began...

Enjoyable and tasty and we had soon scoffed the lot - and realised, from the leftovers, that we, ok, I, had perhaps secured too many accompanying sauces etc...

Not to worry...

Out, our wallets somewhat lighter than they would have been had the Pakora Bar been open...

Back to the High St, noting these steps, where, back in 1977, a young Mr CBQ sat with his first ever guitar purchase and tried to pick out a few chords...

47 years later, an old Mr CBQ is still at it...

Magnums were secured...

And enjoyed...

Back thorough Princes St Gardens and a brief visit to the National Art Gallery (no pics) before we took the bus home...

These on the way down the hill...

...and these in the garden...

A good Monday out...

In the evening, some new music and some TV...

As is the way...

Highlight of the Day : Out with Anne...

Ah, Sunday...

It remains the weekend...

The band was to have been rehearsing today but called off due to illness both my own part and drummer Johnny, down with the Covid and an eye infection...

And so, a visit to Anne's mum in her new abode...

Tranquil...

...followed by a joint 70th birthday party for two ladies who in fact, turned 70 quite a while ago (but in the last 6 months or so)...

Lynn's sister Sheila and her chum...

Quite a gathering...

...amongst whom was Jamie Frain's wife Suzy...

Good to see her again...

There was dancing...

There was singing...

There was, to a certain extent, sun...

...and there was carousing...

And, it was the actual bitthday of Lynn's partner Ross...

So, happy birthday Ross!

We left shortly before 8 (it went on well into the night apparently)...

Back home, time to bring the red books of CDs I own up to date once again...

While I don't seem to buy as many CDs as I once did, I do seem still to buy quite a lot of CDs...

Oh well...

A "monk", the 100th I think, rounded off the weekend...
