A not too long walk to the hotel and they very kindly let us check in an hour or so early...

Unpacked and out and a walk back to the centre...

Later, at the Arndale Centre, Anne was in the market for some new trainers...
Then, to the Piccadilly Tap, for a meeting later with Craig Harding and partner, Becky...
England were struggling against Congo...
Harry Kane doing his usual cheating to try and get them back in the game...
At half time, we headed out to get some quick Chinese Food...
On our way back...
...two roars from pubs around the area told us England had scraped through against lowly placed in the ranking opposition, as usual...
Oh well, just as well it's only a game...
Craig and Becky were in town from Macclesfield to see the March Violets on what was, coincidentally, Craig's birthday...

Craig brought along his entire collection of gig tickets - there were some impressive nights he'd attended...
Time to say adieu as they went off to their gig, having missed the support acts...
We walked home via Canal Street...
...and caught some more football before calling it a night...
