...followed by Isaac Hayes...

...who, post a look around the garden...

...soundtracked a walk to the grocery store for provisions...

Back home for breakfast and the discovery of a recording of UK, in concert a week or so before the EP and I saw them in London back in March...

Some relaxing in the living room with Hildegard von Bingen before heading into the loft with the phone on shuffleplay, to do some more sorting out...

Found this and brought it down...

The diary of my first trip abroad, to Konigssee in the summer of 1974...

On reading some of it, Anne opined the younger me was a bit up his own arse...

Not much has changed in 41 years...

However, my efforts did gain me some record tokens, with which, I recall, I purchased the first two LPs by Cockney Rebel...

To my mum's, where her new phones seem to be working ok.  We were joined briefly by Sister Sheila and Senior (unpictured)...

On to Anne's mum's for a very well attended fortnightly family tea...

Around the table there was much picture taking...

Kitty was sent off with the brief to "document something interesting"...

..and then, to take portraits of all attendees...

Maureen...

Arianne...

Craig...

Jane...

Bobby...

Anne...

Olly...

Self portrait...

Keith...

Mary...

Portrait of the artist as a young girl...

Excellent eye shot from Kitty...

And, of course, children cannot resist glasses...

...or playing tricks on their old uncle...

Home again and "George Gently" once more entertained...

Thereafter we were sucked in by the opening scenes of the Will Ferrell vehicle, "Blades of Glory", not hitting the sack till 1am as a consequence...

Lights out...

Highlight of the Day : Kitty's camera work...

Surprisingly, finished off the Blue Note project today - I have 315 titles which would take as many hours to listen to all the way through - 13 days, 24/7...

I won't be doing that but I have been listening to quite a lot of jazz over the past few days...

And the excellent 2CD compilation "Straight No Chaser" was on the Cloudland Blue Mobile Stereo Music Purveyance Apparatus this morning as we drove to the far side of town, to the opticians to order two new pairs of specs and a pair of prescription sunglasses for Mr CBQ...

Bargain...

I forgot to mention that, on Thursday, I had my eyes tested...

I have been advised to "speck up" 80% of the time, with varifocles now being deemed necessary to meet my ongoing being able to see stuff properly requirements...

With that sorted, to the Meadows Festival for a meet with Dr Prog...

Weather not good - dull and windy...

...as we passed the Argyle Bar, where Sombre Reptiles once had a residency (of sorts)...

...which led to the formation of pre Pet Shop Boys synth pop duo Love Parade...

To the Meadows Festival to find it had been mostly cancelled due to high winds...

Prior to the stalls shutting down and packing up...

I picked these up from the Lothian Cat Rescue bric-a-brac stall...

Just one of your English pounds sterling each...

The unbuilt stage in the distance indicated that, sadly, there would be no music today...

...so we would be unable to compare 2015's fayre with the sterling offerings served up in 1984...

I still have both the guitar and the Yamaha CS5 synthesiser which are being used here by Mr CBQ and Count Brodski to delight the capacity crowd of thousands (unpictured) - the tape deck re the self created electronic pop music backing tracks is long gone though...

As is my hair...

As are my discernible waist and chin lines...

We met Phil in a nearby cafe...

This is not him...

...and chat, soup, quiche, coffee, juice and tea were all enjoyed...

Take a look at these hands, take a look at these hands - as Talking Heads might say...

Then a walk back to the Festival, now well and truly "cancelled" - so we continued to the music library...

These horses arses were all I saw of a drumming and fluting parade...

...and these were borrowed...

We left Phil heading to buy some blank DVDs (don't ask) and made our way back to the car, through the still very windy Meadows...

...and the Argyle Bar...

..scene of the...no, wait, I've done that bit...

Onward...

...through the wind and, generally, nice leafiness...

...and home for some listening, admiring the blooming garden on the way in...

A Tivo'd "George Gently" very much enjoyed in the evening...

Along with a very small, split between us, Indian - moderation is the key...

Right you two...

Highlight of the Day : A wee kind of day out despite inclemency cancellations...

The garden is stirring into life...

Skies were blue and it was reasonably warm...

Home under the sun...

...for a very tasty salad...

A request from me rather than an Indian takeaway...

Yum...

Some telly on the Tivo and some live stuff...

Also spent some time going through all my Blue Note CDs to see which were not yet ripped to a drive...

Around 50...

A project commenced to sort that...

Soundtracked today by the latest 70 or so acquisitions on shuffleplay...

Looking old...

...and looking at this...

Anne was out walking over the Braid Hills with chum Teresa and her dog, Mac...

Some contemporary American classical music popped up on the headphones and this led me to commence an ultimately abandoned shopping spree on Amazon for more of the same...

So I got down to some cooking...

This was enjoyed as I watched the recently broadcast on BBC4 documentary on Blue Note, which led me upstairs to produce a new playlist of all the Blue Note albums I currently have on iTunes and to listen to tracks from a few of them...

This led me to commence another ultimately abandoned shopping spree on Amazon for more of the same...

Everything is still in the basket though...

Anne returned, having had a good time and we watched "Big Bang Theory", "Question Time" and "This Week" before retiring at a very tardy 12:40 am...

An overcast, windy day...

New comedy "The Goldbergs" has been being enjoyed recently but has gone unmentioned until now...

And, of course, some music was grooved to...

Including the first listen to an Edward Spark piece for which I have been asked to fashion some lyrics...

Devoid of ideas at present...

In other news, spicy pasta concoction for tea - yum...

And, of course, Tuesday night is Holby night...

Highlight of the Day : New to me music popping up on the cans...

First of June but it was more like the first of November...

Soundtracked by the new stuff ...

With Anne out at Zumba in the early evening, "Agents of Shield" was caught up with again...

Then, a very interesting programme on "Belief" in the Middle Ages - "Inside the Medieval Mind" - must try and get round to spending a couple of hours watching the first two episodes, "Knowledge" and "Sex", at some point...

Then, highlights of the day - the return of "Vicious" and "Man Down", the latter had me in stitches, to coin a phrase...

Meanwhile, the King Tubby dub compilation showed "100 Hits Summer Reggae" just how it should be done...

This while I listened - for no particular reason other than, up until right now, I had not taken a picture all day...

That's it I think...

Highlight of the Day : The disco scene in "Man Down"...
