Up at a ridiculously early hour due to being unable to sleep re illness...

Stuff was ready to be packed...

Other views from around the room...

This has been creating welcome morning and evening heat all week...

Soon, Anne was up too and we prepped for the exit with final packing - a note left re a broken cup...

...and out we went, locking up and leaving the keys in the instructed place...

And so, the 25 minute trundle to the airport bus began...

Goodbye quiet courtyard...

Goodbye Calle Santiago...

Goodbye The Mushroom Thing...

I think Anne was amazed I got us there on time...

To the airport...

...where a final Spanish breakfast was enjoyed - there's nothing like a tortilla on a roll 1st thing in the morning...

Anne was not 100%...

...and we were leaving the sun behind...

The view from the gate...

Ironically, while we were, for once, first in the queue to get on the plane, sadly, we were taken there by bus...

We still managed to be near the front re the boarding though and were soon in our seats...

The hippy guy next to Anne was complaining on his WhatsApp about all the "middle class tourists" on the plane...

Erm, it was Ryan Air - by definition then, not middle class, surely...

Apart from one middle class hippy...

Took off a few minutes late...

Good, unobstructed views...

A dam was spotted far below...

Around an hour later, we were, perhaps, heading over the Northern most point of Spain...

...where the mountains almost met the sea...

Soon the scattered clouds...

...became full clouds...

During the flight, the entire bag of coconut bought yesterday afternoon was consumed...

It may be possible to have too much coconut...

Onwards...

After 3 hours, Edinburgh...

Landed right on time and, post running over a dawdling Spanish tourist's foot in my rush to passport control and a contretemps with an official there re a wrongly placed direction as regards UK passport holders, we were out and onto the airport bus and had soon trundled up the hill and were home, some 8 hours after leaving the apartment this morning...

Before we knew it we'd had a cat visit from wee Rocky...

Anne took a Covid test and was found to be positive - I was waiting till Sunday pre the planned band rehearsal...

A tasty takeaway from Wong's ended the holiday and, post some telly ("The Black List" of course) - off to bed...

Highlight of the Day : Home...
