Nice wee bird on the laptop this morning...

And a happy birthday to sister Sheila of course...

To work...

Late last night it was announced that Burt Bacharach had died...

And here I was in the midst of s new project to record "songs I like" - and, so, there are many by Mr B written with Hal David which come into that bracket...

I sourced some tracks last thing and, this morning, post going to the place I go to lose and having slightly gained (not surprising re Seville), I set about recording 8 Bacharach songs - it would have been 9 but I discovered I don't really "know" "The Look of Love" despite loving it...

So it goes...

And so, this morning a new CBQ EP was issued on Bandcamp...

It accompanied our trip to the dump with the old kettle and toaster and had the exec Producer (not credited as Exec Producer on this one) tapping her toes and singing along - which is not something which happens very often!

Back home, Rocky popped by again and played on the stairs...

...and investigated the recording room...

...where, this afternoon, a few more Beatles, Elvis and Stones songs were added to the rough demos collection, now up to 118...

I say "rough" as these are all first takes and, in addition to that constraint, my voice is not at its best, as a consequence of the Covid outbreak at Crispycat Towers...

However, I will continue to demo and then decide which songs to take forward, by which time, hopefully, my voice will have recovered and recording of fully separate vocal tracks can be commenced...

This evening, the podcast was compiled -  a massive 48 tracks this week, including some demos from my work - and recorded by close of play...

More "The Black List" as the 4th season ended - we can watch 5 under our subscription but will have to pay extra for 6, 7 and 8...

We'll see...

But we are of course, addicted...

Off to bed post midnight, the wee bird was still on the laptop...

Highlight of the Day : Musicking...
