Tuesdays can be good if you're on holiday...

And if you get up early enough...

View...

Updating the red books of CDs I own...

Breakfast at home then down the hill and into town, initially, in the rain...

Our target was a visit to the museums at Surgeons' Hall...

The exhibits are so gruesome that photography is not allowed...

Around an hour and a half of enlightenment and revulsion, in equal measures, was "enjoyed"...

Out into the somewhat brightened up day...

...and round the corner to the Turkish café for lunch...

A look through the Newington shops resulted in a few purchases...

Total outlay - just over the cost of two coffees...

A walk through town ensued, past Edinburgh University and Freshers' Week...

...and on, through the Meadows...

...to Tollcross, where we stopped in at Brewdog for a beer...

This half pint of the worst tasting beer I've ever tasted cost more than all the CDs above...

On the upside, Anne's, at half the price, was nice...

A bus home...

...and the last blooms of summer appreciated...

...along with today's purchases, which comprised guitar music...

...a 5CD box of George Benson for a quid...

Madness...

...some German organs...

...the best of Kenny Rogers, including "Ruby" and Anne's ringtone, "Islands in the Stream"...

..and decided to finally give Belle and Sebastian a chance...

...and you can't go wrong with some Bax chamber music...

Labels off but ripping will wait till tomorrow - for now, listening...

In the evening, some more listening, to older stuff, with a picnic...

...and "Holby City"...

Over the last couple of days, the Faroese have slaughtered thousands of dolphins...

The story got me researching...

Every day, in the UK, this is what we slaughter:-

More than 7,000 cows
More than 27,000 pigs
More than 40,000 sheep
More than 220,000 fish
More than 2,600,000 birds

Every. Single. Day.

Pretty good going for nation of supposed animal lovers…

I tweeted those stats...

But a picture of the cover of a Pink Floyd LP with no comment got more likes...
Oh well...

Highlight of the Day : Enlightenment and revulsion...
