To Barter Books for breakfast...

Tasty porridge and toast for me...

Poached Eggs on toast for the Exec Producer...

Out into the sun, although it still wasn't warm...

This at the Salvation Army...

...you can't beat Haydn for delightful music (his piano trios soundtracked the driving post this purchase)...

...and these at Oxfam...

Was not aware of the James LP from 2016, while the Earquake collection, which comes with earplugs for your neighbours, features one of the loudest pieces in any repertoire, "Hekla (Volcano)" by the Icelandic composer, Leifs...

A further walk around the town, past the Pottergate...

..and by the Market Square...

Then, a drive to nearby Warkworth, always an enjoyable destination...

The EP partook of some Hare-nalia in shape of this vase...

Then, a walk by the church and along the river...

...where the ducks entertained...

...as did a heron...

Then, to nearby Alnmouth...

...where new Puffin cups were acquired by the EP in her never ending hunt for puffinalia...

A chili pork pie for lunch then round to the old school for some art...

...and some coffee (tea for the EP), featuring my own attempt at barista-ing - can you see the wee dog?

Now?

OK, not to worry...

Back to the car...

...and on, to Morpeth, where it was quite cold and nothing much happened...

Back at the hotel, we were enjoying a rest when one of the other guests accidentally set the fire alarm off...

Anne was the only one of those exiting onto the pavement with the presence of mind to phone the  owner - who duly turned up and sorted it out...

A pair of awry curling tongs were to blame apparently...

Back to the Black Swan this evening for their gin special - they have over 200 on offer - we took Hotspur Gin, from the Alnwick area...

Then, over the road to Di Sopra for some very tasty nosh, at very reasonable prices...

A shared spicy bruschetta...

...followed by two top notch pizzas...

Mine was a lot better than its fairly boring look in the pic...

Both were v juicy - which is kind of what you want from a pizza...

This gluttony was followed by a constitutional, taking our last look around the town before heading home tomorrow...

Rather unbelievably, Queens went down 2-1 away at Montrose in the first leg of the play off semi final...

Roll on Saturday...

Highlight of the Day : New hare and puffins...
