So Anne drove us to pick up my mum and then on to Lasswade and The Paper Mill for a tasty lunch with Sheila and Andrew and Ali and Julie (who accidentally went to the Sun Inn, a few miles away, and were, therefore, slightly delayed)...

Before we started, old friend, ex boss, bon viveur, art gallery and restaurant owner, purveyor of my artworks, etc etc, Jeff Kelly and his wife Jackie came to the table, Jacky having recognised me...

That was a wee birthday treat to see them again after probably,over twenty years...

All too soon, it as time to head home, we dropped mum off and admired Tufty's Corner behind what was once the garage...

Back home, Anne did some Executive Producing...

...and birthday cake from last night was enjoyed...

...as was "Deutschland 86"...

I had been toying with the idea of a night out, or even some kind of birthday celebrating performance tonight - a few weeks ago, a long list of invitees was drawn up but, in my usual fashion, I just didn't get round to it...

However, after last night's shenanigans and today's long lunch, it was actually quite nice for an old goat just to sit and relax for the last few hours of his sixtieth...
