Breakfast at home...

Then, out and up to the terminus for the bus into town...

...alighting on Princes St and over into the gardens, where we bumped into unpictured chum, Spike, on his way for a commemorative lunch for much missed chum Keith Lodge...

We, however, were tourists for the day...

We made our way up the Mound...

...and to the Castle Esplanade with its views over the city, Forth and Fife...

The Germans were becoming acquainted with their surroundings...

...while the beast was about its business at Scotland's top tourist attraction...

We made our way down the first half of the Royal Mile - noting a piper on the way...

..and some whisky...

Manuela was looking for Jorg...

...there he was...

Down Cockburn St for a coffee...

This taken by a Leinster supporter who stopped, several times, for a chat...

Once again, my barista skills were to the fore, kind of...

We took a route round by Waverley Station before enjoying a Sandwich at the Cannongate Church and then into the Museum of Edinburgh, which Anne and I had never visited before...

There were many interesting exhibits on display including the winning design for Edinburgh New Town...

...and a losing design - which actually looks better...

There were also a couple of pics of the actual Greyfriars Bobby...

Out and down to the end of the Mile and the pile o'shite that is the Scottish Parliament...

...and over the road to Holyrood Palace...

...overlooked by Arthur's Seat...

Then, up through the Abbeyhill graveyard...

...and on to Regent Road...

...where this perfectly good and rather splendid building still lies empty after being rejected as the home of the Scottish parliament - politicians preferring to spend untold millions of taxpayers' cash on the previously mentioned pile o'shite...

Oh well...

Good views...

Up onto Calton Hill...

...for even better views...

We had not been here since Jorg's last day of his last visit, with our Godson Ansem, back in 2016...

Down to street level and a quick visit to Tourist Info before a cheeky wee visit to Fopp, where these were acquired...

...and Jorg got something he liked...

Four Ten Years After CDs...

In the evening, a tasty Indian takeaway from the Delta was collected after a drive through torrential rain...

It seemed we'd had the best of the weather...

Another good day...
