Up before the sun...

Finished off the podcast...

...loaded it into the iPod...

...and set off around 7:10 for Portobello to pick up the Cloudland Blue Mobile...

Home by 9, just as Anne was leaving for Zumba with Lynn...

Took the oportunity to continue the #Yesathon with 1980's "Drama""...

...controversial for The Buggles, Trevor Horn and Geoff Downes replacing Jon Anderson and Rick Wakeman on vocals and keyboards respectively...

"Drama" was, arguably, the last of what might be called the "true" Yes LPs...

I bought 2nd hand in July 1981 and it's always been a fave...

The format kind of mirrors 1971's "The Yes Album"...

And it's such an improvement on "Tormato", so badly marred by Wakeman's keyboard sounds...

Out at 12:30 and to the cathedral...

...for some solo piano jazz from Swede Mattias Nilsson...

We enjoyed the music in good surroundings which are becoming familiar...

...and bought the CD...

Lucnch at a sandwich place at Haymarket...

My lurgi were making an unwelcome return so we decided to call it a day on the Festival and head for home...

A stop off at Mimi's Bakehouse afforded us these tasty treats...

...enjoyed with coffee as we watched the third in Richard Linklater's trilogy of films with Ethan Hawke and Julie Delpy, "Before Midnight", which, in 2013, followed on from Before Sunrise (1995) and Before Sunset (2004)...

As enjoyable as the cakes...

In the evening, some Indian food and Anne enjoyed "Masterchef" while I worked upstairs trying to fix the printer...

Which was, eventually, a successful endeavour...

Some sad news late on in a call from my mum, that her old friend, who we often visited in Paisley, Pat had died...

Here was Pat, playing the host as ever, back in November 2009...

...and here, the old chums in March 2014...

Pat had recently come through treatment for cancer of the esophagus and seemed to be on the mend, then fell and was having carers call twice a day - she hated this as she's always been so independent...

In the end, it was one of those carers who found her...

She had died in her sleep...

Which, when all is said and done, is probably the best way for things to end...

Today's artwork, "The Ink in the Well"...

Highlight of the Day :  Jazz, film and cake...
