A drive down the A1 today...

First stop, Bamburgh...

Excellent coffee and cake at Wyndenwell - the art on the walls was also good...

Then, a walk round the imposing castle and onto the beach...

It was crowded!

Anne used her new phone to capture the pic above and, here...

...this one...

Nice work...

I liked the kite flyers...

We completed the full circle of the castle...

...and walked back through the village, visiting the walled garden...

...before driving on to Seahouses, where fish and chips from Lewis's was much enjoyed...

I went for the plaice, thin flat and tasting of the sea...

...Anne had the reliable haddock...

Yum...

And eaten with these views...

On again, to Alnwick - more of Anne's photography...

...and I managed one too...

Into the town and these were secured for the total outlay of one of your English pounds at the Lions Charity book shop...
These, from Oxfam, were slightly more costly but much more economical than their outlet in Stockbridge...
Meanwhile, Anne secured this nice piece of Puffinalia...

More coffee was enjoyed in the market square...

I contemplated stealing one of these for the garden...

To Barter Books...

...where this tome on the history of Canadian rock (including much on my faves the Rheostatics) set me back more than I'd shelled out for 8 CDs...

A non-stop drive back up the coast home and the 2nd episode of "The Bodyguard" kept up the quality, while, in "Holby City", despite his being a bit of an annoying character, it was good that Sasha didn't jump off the roof...

Far too easy access for the staff if you ask us...

Today's artwork, "The Executive Producer Producing"...

Highlight of the Day : Northumbrian trip...
