A day, mostly, of walking...

Up around 6 and writing this up, ready to be uploaded on our return to Crispycat Towers, thus saving me loads of time once back...

Holidaying in the UK by car allows the laptop to easily accompany...

Breakfast at home...

A drive over to Bolton Abbey, looking back over Burnsall...

Parked, paid and into the grounds for the day...

Mile after mile of gorgeous scenery and beautiful buildings...

A break a few miles in, for some refreshments...

...before crossing the river and heading back through the woods...

Back to the car and on to the third of the three car parks to which our entry fee allowed us access throughout the day...

A late lunch before heading back into the woods to The Strid...

This view was also enjoyed by Mr Turner back in the day...

At The Strid, the water, rather unbelievably, is as deep as the height of two double decker buses...

Apparently, lives have been lost here...

On to the aqueduct...

Back to the car and home, stopping to take a couple more views of the bridge at Burnsall...

To which, post coffee and biscuits in the garden...

...we then took a walk...

Back home again for some more successful fire-building, chilli making by the Exec Producer and writing this up for me...

It's all good...

In the evening, music listening and snoozing from me post fire-building, while Anne enjoyed the results show of “Strictly”...

Bed at midnight once again...

Highlight of the Day : Bolton Abbey...
