Back in the court of the crimson king, where some subjects did not show any respect whatsoever...

King Crimson - Live at the Orpheum
Robert Fripp - The Wine of Silence

The view from the hill this morning was a little more overcast than yesterday, but I was happy, having witnessed last night's King Crimson gig and heading to the last of the UK tour tonight...

Back to the Usher Hall tonight....

...spying KC drummer Pat Mastellotto strolling by...

I was with Dr Prog and, once again, I'd gotten us in to the pre show talk...

At the merch stall, Robert's sister Patricia served me re her brother's CD "The Wine of Silence", it having been recommended by Mr Singleton during last night's talk...

Tonight, Ms Fripp introduced the talk...

..which was of course the same as last night - but the post-talk Q&A provided more insights into matters...

As expected, the stage set up was exactly the same as last night - but the setlist was slightly different, one piece getting its only airing of the UK tour tonight...

No pics during the performance, per the pre show announcement by the band members, including Tony Levin, who usually takes pics all the time - see his tour diary for Edinburgh here ...

A few people seem to have come along despite quite obviously being deaf,,,

Dr Prog was round the side to my left - that's him standing up...

Meanwhile, I was behind a very annoying hippy who, for the first 30 minutes of the gig, despite having been asked not to, and despite having expressed his love for everything King Crimson to anyone within earshot as he took his seat, proceeded to talk to his, no doubt, long-suffering, girlfriend, before disappearing completely (yay!), leaving her to fall asleep to some of the loudest music she was ever likely to hear...

Mr Hippy turned up later to take a seat in the very front row, previously vacated by a very drunk indeed baldy man who had been shouting and clapping through all the early numbers...

Mr Hippy ended the night dancing with five other souls to "21st Century Schizoid Man" and a drum solo - which, from a hippy trying to dance to a drum solo perspective, was, admittedly, reasonably entertaining to watch...

Not so entertaining though, were the three guys to my right...

Before the performance began, they had been waving and shouting to drunk bald man down in the front row of the stalls - that was an omen...

They talked throughout the entire concert - although there was some respite when they went off to the bar, missing at least three pieces, it had to be asked, why on earth were they here?  And why was it, that despite there being seven musicians giving it laldy through a PA system, I could hear their voices over the music?

The final straw came at the poignant opening of  "Starless"...

I asked them to be quiet and pointed out they'd talked through every piece...

The one closest to me, then tried to instigate a discussion with me about their right to talk due to it being a "rock concert"...

To which my witty response was "For fuck's sake don't start a conversation with me when I'm asking you not to talk.  Don't speak to me, just fuck off!"....

Sorted...

Beginning of "Starless" ruined for everyone in the vicinity though (many of whom thanked me at the end for taking the dolts on )...

Anyway, other than that, the gig was excellent LOL...

The playing may well have been even better than last night...

Afterwards, I took a few fanboy pics of the equipment...

A brief chat with Dr Prog on proceedings and then to meet up with Anne and chum Gillian who'd also recently been to Toronto - note comparison had taken place...
