A new old route this morning as I disembarked the bus at Roseburn and walked alongside the, rather swollen, Water of Leith to the West End...

The old guy on the bike in the pic below was going along and stopping every time he saw some litter, picking it up and taking it away in a series of plastic bags...

Well done that man - and extremely badly done anyone who drops litter on this path...

Up onto the road at the Dean Gallery...

..and towards the trusty cathedral...

At lunchtime, more walking as I took a route through the Grassmarket...

...to the Music Library (having found nothing enticing at McAllister Matheson on the way)...

I withdrew a further three CDs - the Trio Elf disc looked at on Saturday, a cracking re-issue of rare early recordings by the Spontaneous Music Ensemble and a Tony Williams album which, it turns out, I already have...

A bus down to Hanover St and then a further walk through Charlotte Square...

It is just past the twelfth day of Xmas of course...

Back home this evening to find Meg the Black Cat in one of her new favourite places...

Anne was out at Zumba while I, prompted by an entry on Sid Smith's blog, downloaded around two hours worth of mainly live recordings of avant jazz trio Zevious...

Very impressive indeed...

Later on, we enjoyed the first of two parts of "The 7:39", before I retired to write this up and listen to more Zevious and the borrowed CDs...

Lights out to the gloriously glacial Thomas Köner...

Highlight of the Day : A new discovery...
